Looks like a fun garage to be in. Red is a great choice. You can't ever go wrong with it. It's a classic.

I was also tossing up between White (White Liquid) and Red (Ignition Red). I didn't like the old white, it always looks dirty to me, and the car was only coming in on order so I went with red. Very happy with my decision though.

It's a bit more than a garage.

Picked up my 2013 FRS on Friday. I had first driven the FRS in July 2012 for some promotional events for Scion where I took the car to some autocross events. Since then I have wanted one of my own! It's got 62k km and is stock right now. I should be taking it to some local autocross events next month.

Hello!

Hello everyone, I just purchased myself a '17 Toyota 86 in Halo White this past Friday. I was a '92 Mazda Miata owner before, and made the jump to the Toyoburu twins because I've always loved the car since it's debut in '13, and needed the additional practicality and trunk space compared to my Miata.

It'll be tastefully modded for daily driving and the occasional spirited driving in the mountains.

Also got it for a steal of under $2.5k MSRP. No other dealership in my area was able to match or beat the price!

BEEN a member for a while but never have posted, bought my red fr-s in the summer of 2012, only miles on it were the miles I took it on a test drive hah currently at 85k & am about to indulge even deeper into this, ran into money issued after buying her so it's still all stock but atleast I still have her & no repo!: )

Anyone live in illinois? If so message me, looking for a few local enthusiasts to bounce ideas or ask questions & maybe even help depending the project lol.

Also, my clutch just fried last night so im in the market for a clutch a.s.a.p if there are any suggestions lemme kno, or someone that's mechanical enough to do the job I could work something out with, beats hell out of the dealership hah. Thanks guys.

Congrats on the purchase! I had a 1990 Miata for 10 years as my first car. Beat the crap out of it and did a bunch of autocross. Fun car But I'm loving the FRS now.

Got myself a 2016 FRS in Raven Black. Gonna be looking into modding it and working on it in the foreseeable future.

Looking at 86 to replace my 88

I had a 88 Toy truck that was totaled. It was our weekender / Jetski hauler. Rather than try to do a frame swap I am thinking bout moving on to a new 86. It would see not alot of use till my 9th grade son starts driving regularly in a couple years then my wife would use the 86 daily while he gets the Camry. Is there Anyway to get the gray or black rims without getting the 860 model with all the stripes ? My only concern is while we are both in good shape and health is getting in and out being it sits pretty low. I am 48 she is 45. I will try to post a pic of my ole yota... hopeffully a new 86 will get me over the sadness of losing my fav all time vehicle. Couldn't get photos of truck to go... may try later.

The car does sit low, but you can raise the seat height to help a bit with that, unless you're one of those above average height people. Also, just take your time when it comes to getting in and out, and you'll be fine. As for the wheels, you can always ask the dealer to see what they're willing to do, but most likely you'll have to buy the wheels from someone with an 860 who is selling them, or order a set (likely far from cheap) through your dealer. As an alternative, you can just find a set of aftermarket wheels that you like or that are close to the style of the 860 wheels, that may be cheaper and possibly even lighter than any of the stock ones.

It's a great car and a great drive no matter what wheels it's wearing. Hope you get one.

Time to check in. I got my 2016, release 2.0 #600, a few months back. I had been looking into these cars for a few years and finally found the one for me!

Gotta say after seeing the pics you uploaded that that is really a shame. Very clean looking truck, and they just don't make things like that anymore.

I shed a tear at the loss of the little truck. They just don't make them that small anymore!
At 48 and 45 you are still youngsters compared to many on here. I have 10 years on you, have a lowered car, get in and out of it at least 3 times daily and have no issues. You quickly learn the technique. Just make sure there is as much room as possible to open the doors. Like most coupes the doors somehow seem longer than the car when it is time to open them.
