Same here. Our receptionist's car got a nasty dent above the driver's door when a tree branch came down at work in one of the storms earlier in the year.
Is it actually the shaft that's rusting? In the pictures it looks like there are some shiny spots and I wonder if the rust is actually coming from the knob. But for that to happen and then run down the shaft you'd have to have a lot of moisture. I'd definitely contact AST about it. While it's not at all automotive related we actually had an issue a couple of years ago where one batch of parts we got from a supplier were not stainless when they should have been. |

argh, I want the Velox front splitter and rear non-aggressive diffuser so bad! Their front splitter is the most subtle one, actually works, and can probably take a driveway beating.

Hadn't driven for 3 days till today. Took a short drive to Target and back, but I'm pleased to say I didn't stall or get close to stalling, and my shifts were just about all smooth except for revving a bit closer to 4k rpm than I would have preferred (damn lead foot).

Front splitter http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/ft-8...#.WOhmEYgrK00:
![]() (like that, without the race upgrade support rods) Rear diffuser http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/ft-8...#.WOhl-YgrK00: ![]() Other companies like Aeroflow have a more aggressive design (like built in side winglets, or just protrudes way too much) for the front splitters, and the rear diffusers are way too aggressive for my taste. |

The Aeroflow stuff looks pretty good in person, much better than it does in photos!
That rear diffuser is absolutely perfect. I would totally get that, but I'd completely destroy it. Quote:

You guys seen how low my FR-S is, so that's one reason that's holding me back on getting anything ever. I'd definitely have to remove both pieces when ever I go in to get an alignment. And if I don't angle in and out of my driveway, the front bumper will scrape, and my driveway isn't even steep. So that's how I don't get how dumped people drive around with lips/splitters. |

Saw Ghost in the Shell at the nice theater near Mountain View with reclining leather seats for the first time. Was pretty legit, and price was about the same as a normal theater.
Also took a ride around the Google buildings to go find the dessert statues and stuff. At one point I parked, walked away, and came back to find the SUV parked next to me had its engine running with nobody in it. 15 mins later someone comes up and I let them know it's still running (with windows closed, etc.) and she says "oh, the baby is in the backseat". Wat... Wasn't sure if I should let Google security know so I didn't :\On the way back on 85 some guy in a loud-ass red Miata was two lanes away and I think was trying to get me to race or something because he'd speed up a bit, then slow down, and then rev a bit, and his passenger would look out the window toward my car. :| |

Dang, scraped the bottom of my bumper on a small mound at our lot. Didn't think my FRS was that low.
