Rumor has it Sparcos might fit me well enough - if I can find a shop I may give them a try.

I also like the barefoot shoes because, when paired with a proper non-cotton sock (I use Bridgedale, about 80% wool) I can be very comfortable and blister free even when walking through puddles and racing in a downpour. And they dry out quickly. Racing shoes don't do that.

Also, I trained folks how to sell this stuff in a past life, did shoe/boot modifications, etc. so I get a wee bit technical at times.

How's the wear rate on these from your exp - regarding the first one you linked? I read the reviews and people reported them wearing out after 3-6 months. I suspect they do actual distance running however. I only do maybe 1-2 miles at most as warm up/cool down.

If you keep an eye on Amazon, they get down to like $30-40 every once in a while.
I wear a size 11.5-12 in most other shoes and these fit really good at a 12. If you have wide feet, you'll probably have a bad time.
These look good! But yeah, my feet are kinda wide..

Read it right after your post. Figured it was applicable.

I'm a bit hard on shoes due to lack of arch, but I got nearly two seasons of AutoX out of a pair before wearing through in the heel. Average is 18000 steps on those days, and... well, let's see - ~280 runs on a set of RE71's, so... 40+ of those days. So I'd guess about 500 miles?

To be fair, the midsole on shoes like this just doesn't hold up to the high impact of running for more than ~3-6 months. That's how often people *should* be replacing running shoes.

If you have wide feet how do you wear Nike runners?

Asics have a wider base in comparison cuz JDM. NB have custom widths.

The mid part poofs out a bit, unless thats normal? It fits a little more than snug but not tight where circulation isnt getting cut off..

Damn, y'all are some sneaker heads. My knowledge of shoes is "I wear a size 9 and Nike Freerun fit the best." Even for my combat boots in the army, I wore Nike boots.

I'm definitely not a sneaker head, I just want some shoes that fit me...

Thanks for reminding me I need to spend my yearly ~$400 on steel toe boots soon!

I might stretch that a bit and buy a half way decent pair of steel toes for inside of fenced off areas and then spend about 300 on hiking boots for all the other times.
