I think they're technically different, I forget how. I briefly looked into polishers some time ago.

Lol. I'm not penny pinching, I'm more of a value buyer. If something exceeds what its value is to me, I'd buy it, and I tend to buy the more expensive items over cheaper items (unless it's something I don't care for). Actually came close to pulling the trigger on a Rupes polished (I'll let you Google those, LOL).

Now if I really needed something, I'd just buy it right away (which is bad cuz if that's the case, I don't even look at the price and just swipe my card and leave).

Now, if you want to see penny pinchers, do my job for a day. I gave a guy 6k off a Camry hybrid, and this guy still asked for more off, plus, and using his words here, "free coffee pots, steering wheel cover, and any other accessory for my car, and full tank for the car I'm taking there to pick up the car."

Yes, you read all that correctly. That was one of my worst negative/loss profit deals ever.

I've sold a couple high profile people some cars too, and they you should see how much they grind (for a damn Prius c), even though just one month's worth of their income can buy one of every Toyota model in cash.

Yup. I hate rich customers. The best customers are middle class people...those who actually work hard to earn money. They're the most appreciative and once they see I'm actually giving them a great deal, won't continue to grind.

Rich folk will continue to grind and on top of that, burn your survey (which can lead to a loss of bonuses).

Ugh, I almost made a mistake with the survey for the salesman who helped me with my car.

Usually when I rate stuff, esp. on yelp or uber/lyft, I try not give 5/5 because for the most part nobody's perfect.

So I thought I'd give the guy a 9/10. Then his manager, who was on the phone with me about it, said "well, are you sure, because he'll have to get re-trained, yadda yadda" and I had a total "oh shit" moment and made sure the manager changed my answer.

I don't envy that kind of work environment :\ Sounds rough that even a teeny ding on your survey can fuck you over.

Unfortunately it seems like it's becoming more necessary to always give the full amount of stars available, or else risk the individual who assisted you getting penalized somehow.

I typically use Doordash and Caviar for food delivery a few times a week. One time the Doordash driver finished having a brief conversation with me and said something like "You'll rate me 5 stars, right?"

So it got me thinking, that if you rate them anything less than 5, it counts as a "negative" rating. Bizarre, but sadly it seems it's the current state of affairs in our society.

That kind of worries me.. I mean, if people can be fairly easily thought of as "failures", in a way, just because they get like a 4/5.. It could really harm them emotionally.

Just in school there are tons of students who can get very depressed even when they're earning B's, which are decent grades.

What's even worse for me is that everyone and everything falls on me. Don't like our coffee or chairs, and rate the facilities low? Guess what, that negatively affected me.

This type of rating is becoming more and more common. Even nurses and doctors I've sold cars to have told me they have a similar set up.

I'm looking at what I think is the correct website and info for the Cars and Coffee at Santana Row in San Jose.. Have any of you ever gone?

The impression I'm getting from a quick scan is that they decided to do Make-exclusive C&C rather than just general cars to check out. I could be wrong but the dates listed on this page: https://www.100oct.com/cars-and-croissants/

show specific Sundays for like.. Porche, Ferrari, McLaren, etc.

Sounds boring if they're just going to focus on one type of fancy car :\

Are there any other interesting meets around San Jose or the Peninsula?

Wait, so ratings of non-salesman-related things, like facilities' management and maintenance counts toward salesmen too? wat.

Not a fan of the Santana Row crowd but I've never been so I can't really say.

I'll be at Blackhawk tomorrow. Come say hi!
