After a year and a half of ownership of the BRZ I've decided to start modding it. This is a going to be a budget friendly build. ALL parts to date have been bought with the monies I have earned from donating plasma. So with that being said, here we go...

OEM/JDM Clear Side Markers with Amber LED bulbs

Glad to have changed over to using hood dampers. The ease of moving anywhere under the hood now is priceless.

Got lucky with the break in the weather allowing me to install the MCB.

Night/Day difference between the incandescent festoon bulb vs. the LED version. Would have preferred a warm white instead of the cool white... but I'll compromise

looking good! how's the master cylinder brace treating you? thinking about picking one up as my brake pedal feels awfully squishy.

Honestly I haven't driven the BRZ since the installation of the brace. The weather here hasn't been too cooperative over the weekend but today it's been sunny all day long... So sometime today I'm gonna take it through some local twisty roads. Feedback to follow...

Update: My opinion of the master cylinder brace is that you don't notice it in normal day to day driving. I took the BRZ through a long set of hilly, twisty country roads late yesterday afternoon. The brace made a noticeable difference when under hard braking. The pedal feel had a slightly tighter feel. A set of SS braided brake lines will increase the pedal feel more than the brace, IMO.

Nice white BRZ! I am liking your subtle and tasteful mods so far!

May I suggest the Grimmspeed strut tower bar as a possible next mod?

Thanks Clipdat. A strut tower brace is on the parts list. At the moment I'm looking to get a set of TEIN coilovers, then a new wheel/tire combination (the Prius tires need to goooo!)

My sentiments exactly! I could not get the stock wheels (and tires) off of my car fast enough - hideous! Less than 1 week and I had new wheels/tires and Tein Flex Z's! I am loving the Teins, btw.... damn good coilover at a fantastic price point! There is a guy on Orange County (CA) Craigslist selling them for the cheapest I had found anywhere, brand new in the box - FYI. I drove up from San Diego to pick them up but I think he'll ship.

The firewall flexes when the brake is applied. The harder it's applied the more the firewall will flex. The MCB will reduce or eliminate flex by creating a barrier against the brake master cylinder. *The reduction of flex is dependent on the brace design*

In doing that the brake pedal will feel tighter and brake pressure gets increased.

There are many videos on YouTube about this. Here's on I recently viewed: https//youtu.be/E1rHuekWHtU

Installed the Fumoto oil pan valve on the oil change process at 12k. It's made an already easy process, faster!

Oil change, start to finish under 15 minutes =

Oil is fine, but I would still use the Subaru OEM filter if possible, due to the correct bypass spring/valve rating.
