I have had this idle issue about 6-8 times now with only 1 week of ownership and at 215 miles, also 2 times it has almost stalled during start up. But I have never had any issues while actually cruising its only at idle and havent noticed if its just when pushing in the clutch or not. No CEL's car was filled up with 91 at delivery. but had 1/2 tank before that i dont know where they got

So will this new fr-s not have the defect? I wish they gave you more info as to what the issue was. I wish you the best with the new one.

They are probably going to use the whiteout's old car as evaluation car to make sure things are problem free. Toyota can't afford the bad press, better to make everyone happy. Plus it helps them better develop newer motors. It's just a shame that Whiteout had to be the one, but we all can't have the winning lottery ticket.

Maybe a TRD supercharger?

At least I'm still in the fr-s club for now. Hang tight and if I hear anything new I will update.

I'm hoping this is an isolated incident, but it is not encouraging. It's good that Toyota is taking care of you. I imagine they will be tearing down the engine to see what's up. I wonder what they will do your old car with the new engine. Might be difficult to sell, especially if anyone knows about it.

Very happy that he was taken care of. I have not had any idle issues or stalling just the famous crickets at idle when warm issue. I took it to the dealer on Monday and they submitted the long report to scion. Have not heard back yet though.
