Hi guys!
It's nice to be part of a community that loves the same car as I do, and share our thoughts and knowledge of it! I hope I can meet some of you! I drive a 2013 Scion FRS Argento w/ Manual Transmission. I'm fairly new to the car scene, but I've been into car since childhood. Hotwheels (at childhood) and Initial D is what made me love cars. Nice to meet you guys! Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk

Hi everyone. New member here, just registered today. Been lurking for a few months on here and /r/ft86. I don't own an 86 yet, but I'm currently saving up and hopefully can get one by the end of the year, new or used. Hopefully by the time I get it, I've learned enough from here and reddit to truly appreciate the vehicle since I'm a complete rookie when it comes to cars. Except a few posts from me every now and then asking rookie questions haha

Welcome. Do a lot of searching and reading on here, and be willing to question anything you read that isn't coming out of a Toyota or Subaru manual. The internet is far from 100% accurate. Trust, but verify. That said, there is a lot of good info on here to offset the bad, and lots of helpful people to ask questions to. Good luck with saving up, and make sure you post again when you pick up a car. Don't sweat being a rookie at anything. Sometimes that's a good thing because you don't have any bad habits or biases to influence your ears and brain. You're interested in one of the best sports cars out there. Not perfect, of course, but the way I see it, damn close.

Hi, Johnsfr-s. Do a little searching on the forum and you'll find this gets talked about a lot. If you look in the owner's manual (if you have one), it says you need to read the oil level about 5 minutes after the car has been shut down after a drive, and of course on a level surface. This is intended to give you a realistic read of the oil level. If you go check your oil first thing in the morning on your cold engine, it's going to read high. Unlike other more conventional engines, that's how you need to do it here. If you're still reading high after using the proper procedure, then the oil may have been overfilled at your last service. The system takes about 5.7 quarts, and not everyone bothers to be that exact with their measurement, though they should.

New ownership next week from twin turbo to fr-s
Hi all I'm in the process of purchasing a new to me 2013 Fr-s with 29000 miles. Next week it goes for ppi with compression/leekdown then I'm on it. I'm new to the track and autocross but started about a month ago with drivers skill and autocross in my 2002 996 turbo.
At my last and 1st autocross there were a number of 100000 dollar plus porsches (gt4,gt3,gt3rs and boxster spiders and your usual carerra s and caymans.). Out of all those cars the 4 fastest times were driven by an experienced driver in a well set up brz with no major engine mods. I knew then that I had to have one!!!! My 1st autocross day I ran 20th in a field of 65 and my last "fun run" time would have placed me 11th. My turbo while a joy to drive is heavy and understeer happy not to mention very expensive to maintain . Anyway here's what I found with the list of most mods. Let me know what you all think. The owner is a very accomplished track guy and routinely bests the fastest cars at my "soon to be" home track The Ridge Motorsports in shelton wa. I'm so excited and hope that these forums are as welcoming and as helpful as Rennlist and 6speed have been for me in the porsche community (although I'm sure it will be). Her is the list of current mods. Any suggestions on future would be great Car is very clean, no accident or damage. It's always been service by Michaels Toyota in Bellevue.
