The Toyota dealer didn't question the repair and it was all covered, free of charge.

I took mine in in December - they verified the noise (although it wasn't chirping when I dropped it off - figures - they may have just wanted the warranty $). They ordered parts - the rocker cover took forever arrive - so I didn't get the actual pump replaced until the end of Feb. Dealer had it a day and a half.

So far no chirps...

4 hours total maybe? Less than half a day.

The first time I went in they diagnosed the car, but they didn't have the pump in stock so I had to bring it in a different day for the actual repair.

Mine was done two weeks ago and it's still not coming back and from the sounds of it, it won't considering what everybody is saying about the new fix.
It did make a new clicking/tapping sound though. It's very faint and you only can hear it when idling. Maybe it was there before and the chirp hid it?
I'll take this new noise over the chirp any day though. Of course now I have a UEL header and tune so that is the main "noise" I hear now.

I hear the clicking/tapping sound as well. I believe I mentioned to @humfrz in another thread that it sounded like a diesel car.

Based on what you are saying, sounds like the normal DI "ticking"

Mine has sounded like a diesel jalopy since day one lol

A few people working the drive-thru windows have commented on how surprised they were to see the car I'm driving, after only hearing it through the speaker com ordering food.

It doesn't help that the idle fluctuates when the engine has reached normal temps.. sounds like it's gonna choke to death sometimes

I think so too. Rather have that than chirping.

You have a tune? Thats where it came from for me (the idle part)

Running e85 I havent heard the crickets at all...I am using the second pump (the first 'fixed' one)

I do have a tune, but the rough/fluctuating idle was there from day one.. before I got a tune.

Don't really hear my crickets anymore but they might've just hibernated during winter.. I'll have to wait & see if they come out of hibernation now that the weather's warming up.

Update to my experience: I scheduled my replacement with Bedford Toyota (here in Ohio) concurrent with my 60k mile service, and then called again to make sure that all the parts will be available when I get there. Service adviser had me email his manager with the video, which I did. Hopefully that will be enough to get the ball rolling. It fit with my previous experience with this service department, which is friendly and helpful, so I am pretty sure that this will be fairly painless.

Edit/update: Already got a call back, they recieved the email, but due to the recording, they "couldn't tell" exactly what sound was coming from where. However, they went ahead and ordered the parts, and if they can "diagnose" the chirps at my appointment, they will go ahead and proceed. Hopefully it won't be too cold that morning.
