Not a fan of green tea and unsweetened ... double whammy for me. I used to be all over the lightly sweetened white tea that Fuze and Snapple offered... dunno what happened to them I think they faded out of popularity.

I can't really stand regular unsweetened tea. Usually I need it with some kind of flavor like peach or mango. That kinda thing.

Doesn't help that I'm a boba addict lolol.

I'm in your camp, Drew. I gave up soda and sweetened beverages and haven't looked back.

Except boba. That's my cheat drink lol.

Same here. I do like unsweetened tea but not a big fan of green tea, more of a black tea person.

For early morning drives, I actually like drinking this vanilla protein powder/meal replacement that I mix with black coffee and ice. Fills me up and wakes me up at the same time lol. Better than grabbing a coffee and a donut.

I don't see what the big deal is. Maybe I've just never had a "proper" one?

That's probably exactly it.

There are a combination of reasons usually. Some cheap places use flavor powder and/or powdered milk, which makes the tea taste kinda chalky and bland. Some put too much sugar and flavor syrup in so you lose all taste of the tea. Etc.

For the actual boba some places let the boba get kind of stale or not thoroughly cooked, or overly cooked. So boba could be way too soft, "tough"/too chewy, etc., or just flavorless. Usually good boba is made with honey (but not too much).

There are some really good places. I prefer Tea Era in Mountain View as one of my top places. Tpumps in sf/San Mateo has really good boba (probably one of the best places for boba itself) but the tea itself there hasn't been as good lately.

Let's hit up a boba shop and hard park our twins.

Am I doing it right? I should probably experience this at some point in my life.

But seriously that tea menu at Tea Era looks insane.

I'm all about hot green tea, but iced green tea doesn't really do it for me. Unsweetened black iced tea is great though.

My sweetened beverage weak spots are gin and tonics and Dark and Stormies. So good.

For early morning drives I like a plate of bacon and eggs with some Earl Grey. And then way too much corned beef hash and coffee after the drive. And then go home and crash on the couch.

They have an unsweetened oolong tea that's good as well: https://www.amazon.com/Ito-En-Golden...9448631&sr=8-1

Sometimes (always) after long drives, I get amped up on adrenaline and then I want to drink heavily at Prizefighter. Easily the best bar in the east bay. https://www.yelp.com/biz/prizefighter-emeryville

http://prizefighterbar.com/

Check them out if you like good cocktails.
