Anyone seen the movie "Ronin"? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0122690/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

It's one of my all time favorites, I literally cannot get enough of it. Highly recommended, check it out!

Looks good on a projector and sounds good played loud in surround sound!

I got to my parents' place but probably stalled 10 times, maybe smelled some burning clutch, and dealt with people not knowing what caution signals mean. Like dude, wtf are you glaring at me for for two mins if my hazard lights are on?? Plus I had to stop and start at the top of a couple small hills with stop signs, so I would stall and not be able to get going properly or with too much gas/maybe drop of the clutch? idk..

I feel stressed out but really want to learn. Obviously I have to anyway since I just signed the purchase papers.

But yeah I feel kinda shitty right now

I guess I thought it'd be a little easier but getting used to the pedals was a bit tough.

My sales guy was alright, like he brought me to a lot for 10 mins before signing papers, and then after I was finished we went back to the lot for 30 mins. But I kinda felt pressured having someone in the next seat going like "you're good dude!! relax!!"

Tomorrow I'm gonna try and find a lot to spend an hour or two.

I think a lot of the issue I have is feel. Like I found the engagement point/friction zone for the most part, but I either don’t put enough gas or I put too much, or I engage the clutch too quickly and then stall. Shit like that.

Anyway sorry for the rant.

LOL! Welcome to learning manual! We've all gone through exactly what you just did, I guarantee it!

Just spend a few hours practicing tomorrow and don't worry about what happened tonight.

Focus on the fact that you own a badass new 2017 twin!

thanks so much

I knew it'd be a bit tough, but I guess I wasn't prepared for the stress of the first decent drive (and I'll need to drive it 50 miles sometime in the next week or two!). I also need to learn to react better when the engine seems like it'll stall. The sales guy noticed if things started to shutter a bit or whatever then I'd get a bit worked up.

So I need to work on staying a bit calmer and pedal movement.

Definitely going to practice tomorrow.

Awesome, there's a Whole Foods close to my dealership as well (easier to get to than BevMo). Although BevMo is probably open later, so I'll most likely end up at BevMo. lol.

I think you need to get comfortable with the feet movement. Before I started driving manual (when I was 16.5 years old), I just practiced it when ever I was sitting on a chair. Think of it like "shadow (insert sport here)." When I got my first car (not the car I got the license in), it was a manual, and I stalled once, then I hopped on several busy streets, including Highway 29/Sonoma Blvd in Vallejo to go to a friend's house. It was nerve wracking, but I didn't think about it too much cuz I knew if I did, I'd stall. I think practicing the feet movement really helped.

Also, in a safe, open lot, press down on the clutch, and very slowly start releasing to see where the grab point is at. The car will slowly start to lurch forward. Push down on the clutch again, then repeat several times. Good muscle memory on where the grab point is at. Then you can start practicing driving "normally." You'll get it soon enough.

lol, for the first time ever, last week I tried clutchless shifting. I was surprised to get it on my first try for both up and down shifting. However, I didn't try off the line starting. tbh, I'm not sure how that's even possible without a clutch.

I hope this wasn't in your FR-S! Never understood people wanting to do this.

Nah, wasn't in the FR-S. I'll never do it again, I just wanted to see what it was like. Too much work/thinking, and I honestly don't see the benefits of doing clutchless shifting.

I knkw. The JDM wheel fanboi in me is the only reason I would run them lol.

For real though the most "different" one I would love is a set of legit Sakuras. And yes, I would put them on a twin
