I have time to burn and can look into piecing a build as well and have you take a look at it. If you are wanting to play more MOBA type games you are going to need a good cpu. You are going to have to render movements for everyone thats playing.
That would be much appreciated. I'm probably going to be piecing stuff together within the next few days

You can buy a wifi card or USB dongle. If the non wifi Mobo is half the cost then a separate card may be worth it

So has anyone built a Ryzen system yet?

Personally I'm just waiting about a month or so for the teething issues to get fixed(Bad BIOs' across motherboards, Windows 10 Scheduler bug, etc), but then I'll be upgrading from my Core i7 5820K to an R7 1700 and overclocking it near the 4GHz mark. 8 core 16 thread for $329? Can't go wrong haha.

so I've finally got my system back up and running. Mostly been playing BF4 and some old school Command and Conquer Zero Hour. let me know if any of you still play, you r fav server/screen name and maybe I'll see ya on there.

also open to suggestions for new stuff. mostly I like BF4 type of games(BF2 was my favorite) because I can play for a couple of hours and drop it to do other things.

Ryzen is going to really have to step it up in new games/software updates to get many people other then true AMD fanboi money. You can build a skylake setup for cheaper and blow its doors off in alot of applications.

I would love to revive some good old C&C. I have thousands of hours in on that series but have played in 10 years or more. I will pick it up and let you know a screen name.

Oh? Do elaborate. Interested in this, as I'm looking to do a ryzen build whenever my fx 6300 becomes entirely irrelevant.

Its the same battle it has always been. Do you like to game? Go intel as it performs better in just about every single game. Do you do alot of multi thread application work? Go amd it has more cores and does that sort of thing 10x better then intel does for the money.

AMD used to always tote the our chip is cheaper then even the latest version of intel I5. This is no longer the case. The skylake I7 can be found for cheaper in many places then even the low end version of ryzen chips

Not alot of actual benchmarks out there to show the exact differences. Pcworld did a test of current games between a 2 gen old broadwell I5 vs the cheapest ryzen chip. The I5 went toe to toe with the ryzen on every game trading blows of being 5fps higher to 5fps lower depending on the game.

Before skylake came out I was a huge AMD guy. The skylake chip is the 1st intel chip I have owned and wanted to hate it but in the end couldn't because of how solid they are and how much cooler it ran then any amd chip I ever owned.

Vulkan is going to see way wider implementation, and will be optimized for Ryzen, so the disparity is going to be way smaller. Plus, so long as the AMD is priced cheaper than it's direct competition and still provides a higher performance to value ratio, it's a winner in my opinion.

Looking forward to seeing what happens in the next year or so when things start to get optimized.
