Ahhh job situation, the company I was at closed down. Yeah not because I talked back, but I guess fast was a sign. Spent a month searching for a job doing things left and right. Now I'm at a respectable company I'll not mention which for reasons. But yeah three jobs and lots of driving, glad I got the daily cause BRZ still prestine.

How have you been?

Oh, I just learned something. I always thought SU stood for a function (like constant velocity) not the brand Skinner-Union.

Well you had the real thing. Mine were exact knockoffs. Also a bitch to keep balanced and more fun. Kids these days have to mod their cars with unreliable aftermarket parts to make them as fun as the cars we had with the fun already built in.

I'm glad you have found steady work. In between job life can be stressful.

Oh, I've been doing OK. Busy with before and after school care for the two 8 and 10 year old granddaughters ....... mrs humfrz stays busy day caring for the 8 month old granddaughter.

It's nice to have the time to actually watch kids grow up......

Damn that sucks. Glad you managed to get it worked out, and you weren't unemployed for too long. Losing my job/being unemployed is one of the few things that truly scares me nowadays.

Yup and it's driving me nuts after a year. This new contract job I signed up for has no guarantee hours and it's been a month and still no work yet. It's all networking these days with lots of coffee time just to get an interview it seems.

I should have went for the interview with the feds last month but it was for a simple cashier job and I said no after caving into peer pressure.

Yeah, it's a rough job market for sure. I'm fairly set on going back to school to do a pre-apprenticeship program.

Oh, but in more positive news, the military got back to me a few weeks ago about a transfer I put in over 2 years ago to go to university on the army's dime (and make about 60k a year while going), then owe them 1.25 years of service for every year of school (or something like that, think it's generally 4 years of school equals 5 years of service). They told me my transfer had been approved and I needed to book a medical, and start applying to schools and I had 30 days to respond to the email for it to go through. First off, I waited over 2 friggen years for this transfer and I get a month to respond and get my ducks in a row?!?!? Second, how the hell did they not know that I was officially out of the military in November?

Yep, fer sure ......like:

* anything electrical on British cars

* broken cooling fan belts on VW and corvairs

* stuck "automatic" chokes, on any car

* overheating flatheads

* Harleys that leaked oil

* rusted out exhaust systems

* vapor locked fuel systems

* wound up rear leaf springs

* leaking cooling systems

* spark plugs that lasted only 3,000 miles

* adjusting carburetors, setting dwell and timing, adjusting valves

* patching tire tubes

* stuck carburetor floats

* stuck voltage regulators

Yep, them be the good old days ......
