Interesting, I already have my EB kit sitting here on my office floor. I still have to install the clutch first, then the EdelBrock can go on. But, I may not make 1k. Nice to know others are bold enough to get to building right away.

Damn! Here I am with my '17 at 400mi, still keeping it under 4k...
My Velox AOS and oil are coming in today. I'll post install pics when done. Time to rack up the miles so I can hit redline!

Like you, this is not my first 86. So, I had parts still laying around from the first car that went on almost immediately.

Well, you can get by with a hard break-in on these cars. And I know others (shops) who have been much more aggressive than me. But, yeah once I was around 500 miles it was time to play.

Besides, I like to bond with each car. And changing fluids and/or header is a good way to say hello to a car. I will install the EBSC, but I am on the fence if I wasn't to tackle the clutch/flywheel. I am not really setup for it, but I can definitely make it work. But, I may just let a shop install the clutch.

Then EBSC here I come.

But, don't be afraid to start pushing your car.

I beat the hell out of my '15 BRZ. Redlined every gear, since day one. I did all regular maintenance but after 24k miles that motor felt worn. The motor eventually became noisy, and sometimes had knocking sounds at 3-4k rpm. So, i'm going to be a little more gentle with this one. But, to each their own.

Well can't argue with that. I doubt my car will ever see 25k miles. Its not a DD. But it never hurts to burn in the engine proper. But, sometimes you just gotta GO PLAY.
