Anyone have problems with the power switch? I suspect mine drains even when the switch is on or something else is going on. No idea, just trying to eliminate things at the moment.

Yeah that. I did a test and with the OFT plugged in and switched off it seemed to drain in a day. With it unplugged, it lasted 3 days +. I'm not sure if I left it on acc or something stupid, but the battery is shot now (could be battery also) and not keen to run the new battery right down just to test.

Tonight I plugged my oft into obd to look at real time diagnostics. I got a warning to update template file and now I have a cel. Car runs fine though. Anybody ever experience this? Cel is now off. We'll figure it out.

I have an afe intake, catted header, catted front pipe, and run 93 octane. If I got an OFT I would run a stage 1 93 octane ots tune? I would prefer using one of the included tunes because I have no experience with tuning of any sort.

alternativly sell thhe afe intake and just buy a drop in filter for stock airbox, then you can just run the tune without modification the stage 1 tune may be better with catted header |

I couldn't find these answers, so I apologize in advance:
1) Do I leave it plugged in when driving? 2) If I unplug it, does the car revert to stock? If not, what is the point of leaving it plugged in, if I don't care to read any active charts or numbers (I don't know what they mean, anyway)? |

1) if you want to log multiple params of engine working. I wouldn't leave it permanently in when off/parked, to not drain battery & to lessen possibility of theft. If you don't care about logs, just flash some OTS tune and leave tablet home.
2) no. It's device, which main purpose is to flash tuned ecu code instead of stock one ecu of car runs. You can flash stock code back (for example prior service/dealership visit), but by choice to do so, not by unplugging it. |

1) no need to leave it plugged in if you're not using it to watch fuel trims, temps, etc. Leaving it plugged in will drain the battery when the car is off. 2) once the oft has written a tune to the car, you do not need to leave it plugged in. The tune stays in the car's ecu until you decide to change it again or revert to stock. There are several threads that explain how to use various numbers or to explain how the oft device works if you'd like to learn more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
