Cosworth StreetMaster R90 Brake Pad Review

Hey guys, just put a set of these Cosworth Streetmaster R90 pads on the BRZ and wanted to share some thoughts. We just posted a video review up on the Winding Road Magazine YT channel here:

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDivZMCWJEw"]WR TV Project BRZ - First Impressions on the Cosworth StreetMaster R90 Brake Pads - YouTube[/ame]

I'm very impressed with these cosworth pads for performance street use. I'll also test these on track as soon as I get a chance. It's a huge upgrade from OEM pads in terms of feel, bite, and fade. They also hold up well under aggressive driving without the drawbacks of a track pad (squeal, eating up rotors, dust, etc.) Speaking of dust, these don't seem to dust too badly either, appears to be about the same as OEM, maybe even less. Attached is a photo of my already dirty plasti-dipped wheels after about 1100 miles of hard driving...not bad at all.

A friend and I put around 1400 miles on the BRZ a couple weekends ago to Kentucky and back. Went to the Corvette Museum, Mammoth Cave, Big South Fork National River/Recreation Area for some hiking, Maker's Mark Distillery, and drove some killer backroads in-between. It was a fun trip, the car felt awesome.

Here's the mod list so far, really happy with how the car handles and stops right now. Let me know if you have any questions!

Corsa Powercore® Closed Box Air Intake PN 185206

Clutch pedal helper spring removed for improved weight/feel

This is definitely my new favorite street pad. Before these I was considering the Porterfield R4S. I have the R4S on my Miata and they work pretty well on both street and track (no fade during 30+ minute sessions at Gingerman), but the pedal feel is a bit off, and initial bite isn't as good as the R90.

Now I wish Cosworth made pads for the NA Miata...and Volvo 850R lol. Curious to see how they perform on track, I'll report back when I take the BRZ out to M1 Concourse soon.

Thanks for the review, i've been following your videos for a while!

I decided to give these a try on the rear as i needed a replacement with no time to wait for the Carbone Lorraine to be available(5 weeks or more), so my new setup will be RC6 fronts and R90 rears(i've been running oem pads on the rear until now with good results).
