It goes up higher on the pedal, but it almost looks like the material is thicker in that spot!

Yeah, I see what you mean, probably feels more natural with the weather techs to have your foot mostly on the dead pedal. With these it looks like it would literally be half on the dead pedal and half on the cover - as far as the part of your foot that touches the dead pedal I mean.
I like that the material on these looks stickier/grippier though versus the harder plastic of the weather techs. Ugh! Edit: Suppose I could always do the old Amazon "order both and return the one I don't like" trick, but I generally don't like doing that. Quote:
