Carbotech pads - XP10(streetable/racish), AX6(street/AX), 1521(street)
Project Mu - Not sure on which model of pad, but their pads are great
Ferodo 2500 - These are an easy go to recommendation for anyone wanting more than stock, but without the headache of race pads.

There are many others but i likely havent tried them so i can't really comment. I have ran hawks and stoptech pads in the past. I have had better luck with stoptechs over the hawks, and both perform good for the money. But to be honest, I would prefer the 3 choices above first. However, a pad also depends on the equipment it will be installed on. Example, i used hawks HPS on my first BRZ, okay but not impressive. I used the same HPS pad on my NC Miata, wow, a real difference. But i have never been disappointed in street driving with the above referenced 3. But, they are more expensive than the cheaper hawks. I stand by the above recommendations, however a good shop or vendor here on the forums could really help.

DOnt go to aggressive first, error on the side of street driving. Because, I promise you that any pad you choose will bite better than what is installed in that nice shiny Brembo caliper right now.

Are there any Ferodo DS2500 pads that fit the new Brembo calipers? If so, I'm going to order them now before I even have my car. LOVED those pads on my FRS. 95% of the final torque of Hawk HP+ without the digital on/off bite of the Hawks. They held up great to hard punishment on track, perfect autocross pads, and rarely squealed. To me, they're the perfect daily pad you can take to the track and have fun on. My car never got brake fade with them, but I also never took the car to any track that was crazy hard on brakes. It hit Mid Oh, Putnam and NCM.

I dont know, but that is what i have CSG checking on for me. But my first instinct is to say yes. Because the pad size for our caliper is quite popular from i have been told. Not too mention it is still a Subaru parts bin Brembo kit.

I thought I heard the Brembo kit is the same one used in either the WRX's or STi's?

That is my understanding as well, I am not sure as to what MY STI though. But my thought (and i could be wrong) is that the rotors are the same. Caliper is likely the same but the piston sizes could be different depending on which MY they have pulled the parts from.

No rattling coming from the transmission here. I tried to replicate what you were talking about with no luck.

Although I do have a wicked rattle coming from what sounds like the drivers side B pillar. Right next to my head!

I'm having some weird first gear issues. It fights me sometimes. I've noticed when It happens when I'm in Neutral, Slowing down, clutch fully in and trying to put it into first.

When i'm stopped, with clutch all the way in and I go into first gear it doesn't seem to have an issue.

With a manual trans you will feel the gate open up right as you go from aprox 3mph to stopped. You want to wait until then to move the lever to first. Thats the best way to do it (best being nicest to your synchros and longevity) vs while rolling too fast or being stopped. If you do need to get down to first at a higher mph rev blip the throttle to above the rpm you will end up at.

I'd delay moving the gear lever from neutral or out of gear to 1st until the moment you transition from rolling to stop, or rev the car up a little first with a blip.

If this isn't your issue my guess is you are just feeling the stiffness of the new trans. My first sti would not even go into second gear when it was cold.

I think ima trade in for a pp

Give it a week or two before you worry. These are very stiff at first. Just don't force it.

I pretty much never shift INTO first if i'm still moving. I will generally downshift into second and then slow down and then go into neutral at around 7 mph or less. I'll only ever shift into first once i'm at a complete stop

In NYC traffic that's not as easy to do

Will do! I never force it. I always put it back into neutral give it a sec, try again. After the first or second try it goes in fine.
