I got 70% crystalline on the door windows and those tiny windows on the door. 5% 3M ColorStable on the back 3 windows. I didn't want to deal with fix it tickets, so that's why I went with 70% for the door windows.

What do you guys think? I know there are a million threads on that stuff at this point but it'd be nice to get some more current opinions.

Plus, if I should do either of them are there any good places in San Jose or nearby?

Get OEM glass. Its not the best but my 2nd windshield chipped twice within a week of getting it installed. Much weaker then OEM imo

I went to Mr Tint in SJ. 50% all around excluding front, cheapest one I could find, $205 for XMas deal.

They're pretty chill, no waiting room though. Suggest you get picked up and chill for 3-4 hours.

50% is decent for heat protection, 32% if you want some privacy, and don't drive at night alot. It's my first tint.

I have at least 5 to 7 small chips in mine. 4 of those came at one time when someone illegally passed me on the shoulder on hwy 37.

Do you have any pics? Just curious how that looks on the SWP (I'm getting CWP so it'd be similar).

Sounds like it's not too bad, only thing is it's not Xmas :P But maybe there will be a different deal.

Info for both Crystalline and Color Stable:

http://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-u...2716668&rt=rud

http://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-u...2716665&rt=rud

If your main goal is to reduce heat, get Crystalline all around since it blocks out infrared and rejects more solar energy for the same tint percentage.

And neither the Crystalline or Color Stable has affected my navigation or my cell reception compared to no tint.

Totally missed this response last night (and your post with the photo). Super helpful. Thanks! That actually sounds like a pretty reasonable way to do it. Guessing no police issues with the back 3 windows, then?

Might do it similar to you. I mean, San Jose gets hot in the summer but not like Texas or similar states, so I probably don't need to go too extreme with it.
