@soulreapersteve did mention you lived on a farm ........ however, have you ever considered converting to electric or gas heat ....... ??

That would mean ya'll wouldn't have to huddle over one central register on cold mornings to get dressed .....

However, the downside is that you wouldn't have that large hot register to put your wet boots and gloves after snowboarding ......

Oh, I remember those! Nah, that's one of two returns for our system. We have a modest heat pump.

Steve was exaggerating a little about the farm on account of our 5 chickens and beautiful vegetable garden. It's a suburban farm.

It's just plain stupid to drive in the snow on summers. As far as using them in the cold, meh. Learn to test for the limits and drive accordingly.

I got a lot of flack for not ordering all seasons (Conti DW or Pilot sport A/S 3) when that is the general trend around this area. Thing is, Im not going to be doing any canyon carving in the winter nor am I going to be aggressively driving on people infested roads..

If it snows, I'm staying home... and like you said if its cold, take it easy.

Nothing wrong with that. It was a bit of a surprise the first time I drove in the cold but that was only because I had never driven on anything but all seasons until then.

Oh, I forgot that @soulreapersteve is from Seattle ..... where, if you have more than 2 living plants on your property, ....... it's a farm ......

BTW, that home baked bread and home canned preserves sounds good ..... throw in some bacon and eggs and have a meal .....

All you need now is a hog ...... and you would have the whole home made meal ......

Yup. If I had a boring, simple commuter car then sure, ill get all seasons but I simply cannot give up that driving feel for the sloppier a/s tires. (At least, thats what a lot of people report online).
