Any golf pros on here? I'm in need of a few recommendations.

I recently got back into playing, and have since upgraded almost my entire bag from Canadian tire clubs to Cobra Fly-Z clubs.

So, I'm in search of a putter and a gap wedge. The putter isn't a necessity, but I'd like to have some extra bling, instead of a 10 year old, intermediate putter in my bag. Budget would be ideally under $150 for the wedge and and under $100 for the putter. No qualms with going with last years clubs, as that's what I did with the Fly-Z stuff.

I'm an average golfer, judging that by being able to score around what my dad does, and he plays at least once a week, I'm at around once a month, sometimes more, sometimes less. So I don't need anything super fancy.

Whats your average for 18? Im terrible but my coworker is a scratch golfer and always trying hella clubs. Ill get his input for you tomorrow.

Do you have a preference on putter? Center shaft or offset? Blade or mallet?

Putter you can go a couple years old even and be fine.

I'm kind of all over the place, usually between 75 and 90 though. Not great, but good enough to not embarrass myself.

No preferances at all, like I said, for the past 1 (maybe even 15?) years or so I've been using the same putter that came in the 200ish dollar set my dad got for me as a teenager.

Golftown has putters as low as 20 bucks usually, so I'm tempted to just grab one of those and call it a day, but I don't mind spending more as clubs can last a loooooooooong time.

But yeah, putter and gap wedge reccos would be crazy appreciated.

I would say just go and try a bunch at the local place til you find one. I usually am around 100 but my putting is much more consistant with something Im comfortable with.

But i'll get you some wedge options tomorrow

It's funny you mention consistent putting, I outdrive my dad 9 times out of 10, and he still usually finishes lower than me. I've never seen anyone with a putter as consistent as him.

As he always says "drive for show, put for dough". It took me way too long to figure out I shouldn't bet money/ post round beers with him.

Very true. I used to shoot anywhere from 100 to 115. Havent shot over 105 with the new putter. Having the shaft in the center of the club head really stopped me from pushing or pulling puts. And the extra weight from a mallet head helped keep my swing in plane too.

Spend 30 minutes at their putting area (Im assuming they have one?). Cuz if you can even manage to get to 75 adding a little bit here or there will get you damn good.
