Here's a question for you guys.

Say, you're riding in a friend's car and guiding your friend drive to certain shop. At the one light need to turn left, but you need to be in left turn lane #2 (in the pic) How do you explain to your driver which lane need to be in?

I had this situation with my gf and we didn't get in argument or anything, but we had different words we used... so just wondering how you guys will be explaining it.

I would use "the outside turn lane" or is that confused the driver, "the right most left turn lane".

People should already know which lanes would be 1, 2 and 3, no?

ETA: I would say left lane 1 or left lane 2

1 is the left left lane, 2 is the right left lane. If there were two lanes turning right they'd be the left right lane and the right right lane.

I would like to edit my answer. In the unlikely event that my wife were driving while I was in the car (she almost never drives) I would say "turn left from the middle lane".

And this. If my wife was driving I would have time to say just about anything though since she now drives so damn slow. I could probably read the whole driving manual to her in the time she takes to make the turn.
