Is the offset on the STI Wheels really +48?? That means they should work with the Brembo brake set on the new 2017 BRZ. I tried a set of wheels that had a +35 offset and there is plenty of room. The only issue may be the inside diameter of the wheel itself.

Any thoughts? Does anyone have clear specs on the STI wheels?

Good question, all STI rims I checked have +48 offset and IIRC, before the PP, in the Brembo upgrade they mentioned you need their 7.5 STI rim to fit.

But that seems awfully heavy, even 23 lbs for a 17" wheel! What is the source of your weights?

The date he posted that was 2013 so he was referencing weights for the original STI optional wheels, the same ones found on the Series Blue.

17" STI wheel weight

Maybe the 2017 wheel is a different wheel, though it looks the same. An Australian dealer I contacted had the STI wheels for sale, but he would not tell me the weight because "it may not be the same wheel". Those wheels were described as spun cast, and I do not know if the ones available through US dealers are the same. I think Subaru should be more transparent about what they are selling for $$$, just looks or light weight performance?

Maybe i can help you. I just bought a used set of sti rims from the 2015 aozora edition. Its a 17*7 rim made by enkei, The weight is unknown didn't say. But i read that its 18 pounds vs the 20 pound stock rims. If it helps I bought them in Canada. Bought these rims over the weekend.

they are all heavy. Unless you are paying around $2300 + for a set of 17 or 18 inch wheels they are going to be 17 or 18 lbs or more with very few exceptions.

At some point Subaru decided they wanted to sell more STI labelled wheels so they made them less expensive and heavier.

I bought dirt cheap 16" sparco wheels from tire rack and they are lighter than the STI wheels from my series.blue.
