Hello!

What's up! Andrew here, from Sacramento, CA. Been eyeing the FR-S for a year or so now and finally pulled the trigger. Here she is, 2013, 32k miles. Came with the wheels and a Monzo exhaust. I'll 100% be replacing the wheels when taxes come but I'm undecided about the exhaust. Either way, I'm stoked to join the community.

Ditch the All-seasons at your first opportunity and get some legitimate snow tires on all 4 corners. I live just a bit north of you, and snow tires are a necessity when the snowy months come. You can either put snow tires on the stock wheels and get yourself another set of nice wheels for summer tires, or get a set of snow tires on steel wheels or old Subaru 16 inch wheels, and put summer tires on the stock wheels. If you like the car as is on all seasons, you'll flip out driving it on summer tires.

Get registered on the Toyota Owner's website, and also scour the TSB/Recall section of the forum here. Make sure any recalls that are relevant for your car have been done (and logged on the Toyota Owner site) or bring the car to your local Toyota dealer to have the recalls done. You can inquire about TSBs, too, but those will cost you for parts and labor.

Change out all the fluids (engine oil, trans fluid, differential fluid, brake fluid) so you can be sure everything in it is fresh. Unless you got a stack of maintenance records given to you when you bought the car, for all you know half those fluids are original from when the car was built. Change them and have some peace of mind. You might consider having new spark plugs put in as well.

If you aren't already, get into doing your own maintenance for the common stuff. It is very easy to do and saves you a lot of money. This is a pretty easy car to take care of.

And welcome to the forum. There is a TON of info here for you, and plenty of helpful people who have done the "figuring out" portion of ownership for you. Enjoy, you've purchased a great car.

Hi there!

Hi everyone! I'm not exactly new to this forum because I've been lurking for two years, and I have posted five times before I noticed I hadn't posted in the new people section yet hahah. Any hoo I have an asphalt grey 2016 Scion FRS that I traded my 2008 Audi TT in for and I love it! I fell in love with these cars when they first came out, but was hesitant because of the RWD and snow we get in Colorado. The TT eventually ended up costing too much for maintenance and such so I decided to follow the rest of my family and get a Toyota, and better yet, my dream car.

Here she is!

New member, introductions

Hi guys,

Just picked up a 2013 BRZ Sport-Tech (limited I guess?) as a DD Commuter/Winter car to try to add a little fun to the commute.

I'm sure I'll have questions (And probably answers all well).

Thanks!
