Did Stance change the SS spring rate part way through life cycle?

Trying to settle on a set of coilovers but few have the kind of spring rates I am looking for without being high $.

I see a lot of the early review materials and spec lists noting the Stance SS's at 6k/6k, but some stores (few to be frank) list them at 7kfront and 8k rear.

Did these go through a mid cycle refresh or just a typo? I thought they may have simply been using the new XR1 rates in a lazy copy and paste job but those coils are 8k/8k so that cant be it.

anybody know?

The new XR1 which I believe are the replacement to the discontinued SS are 7kf 8kr rates.

So if an online store has the SS listed with 7kf 8kr I would assume it is a mistake in the updating of their website.

Edit: My mistake. I guess FT86SF has their page incorrect which is where I was looking http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/stan...l#.WIBa6n14SZY

I'm pretty sure the rates are 8k/8k. I have a set over here I can pull apart to check the spring rate.

The link below should be to their application list with spring rates listed.

Thanks, but my question wasn't about the xr1 but the older SS; they seemed to have been released at 6k/6k but a few retailers still have sets but at different spring rates. It's all good. I expect it's a typo.

Just call or email (calling is probably the quickest) them for the quickest response rather than hoping that someone who knows sees this thread.

Then call back again and explain that or ask to talk to someone that knows(?)

But in the original poster's case, he hasn't even bought them yet so maybe he should contact the vendor to try to see what exactly it is that they are selling.

Went back and forth with them, they had no Idea.
Gave them everything they asked for, including pics of the coilovers/springs.
Maybe OP will have better luck.

I'm over it. Decided to go stiffer than what they offer anyway.
