Nope, it might have been to begin with but after test driving over 50 people in the last week of all different sexes, ages and backgrounds the typical stereotype of driver for a sports car, well let's just say this is a car that doesn't seem to have any boundaries with potential buyers when it comes to desire to own.

@Ravine – the dark side. Where females are buying cars themselves and not just sitting pretty in the passenger seat.
@JiB – I did, but he prefers bush walks with the dogs these days. Let’s see if this car can change his mind!
@spiller – not all chick drivers are like that...
@R8 – Have you test drove an 86? I’d love to hear the comparison from an owner. I was close to buying an RX8 a while back and decided not to, because the sports version only came in manual and I wasn’t familiar enough with running a rotary engine to feel confident owning one.
@newft86 – this car has a lot of pull. I was going to buy a sensible car, and at first glance just decided to throw that notion out the window and buy it.
@DriftEightSix – I didn’t think the target audience was ever aimed at males – but car enthusiast

Do you mean rotary engine not piston engine?

LOL, I hear ya, I'd knew nothing about rotories when I bought mine. It's been... an adventure, lol. I know what many of you are going through working out the bugs in a first-year design car, right down to the "condensation in taillights" issue oddly enough.

I did drive a BRZ a few weeks ago. Fun little car!
  • Your car feels lower and wider, and you kinda look up and over the hood... the RX-8 I kinda look over and down at the road.
  • Both cars have the neat visible fender bumps to help judge where the front wheels are.
  • Your car feels like it has more torque and is easier to get going. Mine revs a bit higher.
  • Yours feels more open, airy and roomy inside. Mine kinda wraps around you like a caccoon.
  • Yours might be a touch louder and makes, well... piston sounds (unique though, different than most), lol. Mine is a nest of angry bees.
  • Your shifter (manual) is maybe a touch longer throw, but honda-like smooth. Mine is more mechanical, but equally nice and easy
  • Your clutch catches at the very top. Mine catches earlier. Not better or worse, just different
  • Yours looks cute and tiny. Mine looks like a batmobile
  • Your rear seats are sorta emergency use only. Adult humans can sit in my back seats without hating me too much.
  • You can probably go months without checking your oil. I check mine every two weeks (and add some every four weeks)
  • Yours is relatively fuel efficient. Mine is... let's not go there.
Otherwise, pretty similar. If I HAD to buy a car, I'd consider a twin (trin?). But they're so similar in what they do, I can't really justify it just yet since my RX-8 is still doing well

But I am a fan! It's really nice to see a whole new group of people enjoying driving a RWD sports car!
