@Tcoat about the steelies, 16x6.5, 5x100 are easy to get, what if the center bore is bigger like 58 or 57 instead of the 56.1? Smaller wouldn't fit for sure.

As I mentioned in post #2: "A battery tender would be a good idea for storage as would a gas stabilizer for longer storage". That statement should be amended to include long periods if non use. A lot depends upon whether or not the vehicle is consuming electricity while it is not running. humfrz |

My understanding was that our cars have lug centric hubs, so that it's more the lug nuts holding the rim to the hub than the center bore. Not sure if it's absolutely critical to have that hub ring (though I did buy a set for my summer wheels)

Well I thought that we were done that conversation so "out" was the appropriate term. I still absolutely cringe when somebody on a movie or show says "over and out" on the radio. One or the other folks it can't be both.

Late to the party, but figured I'd leave this pretty amusing vid here
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKBdOE2z4O4"]RWD in a Snowstorm - Are we Crazy? - FR-S Long Term #3 - Everyday Driver - YouTube[/ame] Also on the topic of the OEM fitted 16" wheels. The Base GT 86 model in AU comes with these Enkei kinda watanabe vibe wheels that actually look really nice in the flesh. I think they were 16x6.5" with 205's. If I were ever in a position of needing winter tires, the OCD in me would compel me to find these for my winter set.

What "why?" said. There are a ton out there, and some might already have lightly used snow tires on them. Savings galore, and from there you can put whatever tires you want on them
