My first far was a gift, but it was a deal--either I pay a car payment or I pay the insurance. As it turns out, I should've picked the car... at $2400 a year for insurance, a new car wouldn't have been that much more to pay for at the time (my parents would've paid the down).

However, I wasn't allowed to to drive till I turned 18. My dad hated carting me around the first couple months of my freshman year of college till I turned 18 and earned my license. He was so happy when I finally could drive myself around.

Quote for the truth. I have been working since I was 15 1/2. Through College I work 30+ hours a week and often times full time hours. This teaches people responsibility and I thank god almost everyday for blessing me parents who raised me the way they did. I am a better person for it.
