Shit.
At least you see that there may be an issue. That's how you get started on a better path

Scientific 7-minute workout has almost tripled the pushups I can do in 30 seconds. Started a month ago. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/projects/workouts/
I also gained 10lbs once I started exercising, but at least some of it is muscle. 40lbs off for weight loss. 10 added. Still 30 ahead. Once the holidays are over, loss will be easier. Still aiming for 180.
Ash will confirm but that muscle gain will actually help with the fat loss because you have to feed it.

I'll have to do the workout in the back yard but I need to start somewhere. Thanks for the link.

I work on cars a lot and I'm a certified physical trainer so I feel my advice should be at least considered when advising on cars and health. If everyone thought my ideas on home improvement we crap, that'd be fine, cuz I don't know squat about fixing houses. Just really frustrating when your mom has 4 fuse vertebrae in her spine, is 150lbs over weight, tore her rotator cuff (too much strain put on it after second back surgery) and didn't think losing weight or exercise is worth her time despite her injuries and being legally disabled. Thanks for listening boys. You're a good man Ultra.
I feel the same way, but with computers.

Yes, I've been in the field for only 2 years. But wtf, the questions I get asked revolve around basic hardware and software issues, which is much less complex than what I do on a daily grind.

When I reply, I get dismissed like I don't know what I'm talking about. Frustrating when its family and I'm the only computer dude around thats willing to help for free...

Chase your chickens around. Once you catch it, do some squats and then release it, repeat.

(I dunno what I'm talking about, that sounds fun).

More muscle you have the more calories you burn 24hrs a day. Makes your mirror time a lot more enjoyable too once you hit a certain quantity of muscle you'll just stop growing and stop losing fat altogether without serious work on what you eat. Being cut is a huge pain in the ass. Being healthy isn't too bad. Just can't go crazy with the sweets and stuff. Why this is, is because of your bodies"starvation mode". If your more than a few hundred calories with of carbs beneath your maintenance level you'll actually gain fat and lose muscle. If you eat too much, you gain fat. If you eat too much fat, you gain fat. Our bodies are REALLY good at being fat. You'd think your body would try to preserve muscle so you're the most capable of surviving but it prioritises fat. I haven't eaten much since I got sick Wednesday and I can already see my arms are smaller

The chickens are a hoot. Not a challenge to catch, though. Even the dumb ones have come around. They're quite docile.

Do you eat a lot of sugar (soda, candy, cookies)? Prepackaged meals? Take out? Bacon? Those are the easiest to cut down on and will make the biggest difference for you. I kinda like being limited on when I can eat pizza and stuff cuz then it makes it special when I get it. Makes me happy to have a treat

@Ashikabi

Since you on here, ill ask for free advice.

I used to be quite cut (and have stamina) when I worked for UPS. Lifting boxes from 1 lb up to 80lbs by my self was a good workout.

Since entering IT, I dropped off the face of the earth. The moment I can find a m-f, 8 to 5 position, I'm joining a gym. Answer to this question seems obvious but I presume hitting all the machines which would work on all body parts good enough? I was also told running for long periods of time is actually bad due to the impact to knee and ankle.

Won't see the effects until I'm much older though, I suppose.

I don't have a sweet tooth but boy do I love the savory stuff. I actually eat pretty well. Cream and sugar in my morning coffee but water after that. I just need to eat less and move more; the most basic shit, really.
