Given cheap price of these .. isn't it simpler to just get another one new wheel instead of broken one instead of fixing them?

Mine have been powder coated. I'm going to 18s in 2 weeks anyways. But yes It would be easier and safer normally.

TRD Springs, K4R 17x8 +36 225/45/17 MPSS Almost perfect. Front could use some camber adjustment to match the back perfectly but could do without it.

anything not smooth that comes in contact with the wheel, such as pot holes, or small animals. Having under inflated tires will compound this issue.

Powder coating process can also weaken the alloy and contribute to it being more easily damaged.

I feel that these wheels are meant to be replaceable, being affordable.

true, but since these were cracked once before the powder coating I would still take caution.

I just got a set of these in 17x8 +36 from TireRack for $169 each. Seemed like a heck of a deal. Thanks @Pat for the recommendation!

There are a bunch of pics in this thread. I just ordered them this morning and probably won't even mount them until our first track event at the end of March.

So I've had these wheels for quite some time now and love them. However, I now make more than double the HP I did when I first installed them.

I originally had MPSSes 225/45/17 but was looking to move up in tire size. What do you guys think would be the largest these 8" rims could handle? I was originally considering 255s but think I may be dropping that down to 245 now after some reading around.

Thoughts?

245 should work well. They are no longer available on tirerack btw.
