Our cars will be worth a lot in just 50 years from now

http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-toyota-2000-gt/

Remember: Each one of ours which does not buff out, brings the future price up. You can help right now by driving in winter with no snows.

lmao, no.

There were 351 2000GT's ever built and they were priced sky-high, $6,800 in 1967 was nearly double the price of a fully loaded Mustang GT, more expensive than a 911S and in today's dollars is ~$50k. The price is a factor of it's rarity more than anything else.

If an 86 is ever worth 450 million bucks, the 2000GT would be worth $8 billlion+

There's almost 100,000 86's in the U.S. alone, the future values will reflect that it is a relatively common and easily attainable car.

2000GT values may be representative of what future LFA values will be, but nothing else built by Toyota falls into the same category.

There can be only one or at least a few dozen. Any time I see another FR-S, BRZ or 86 now, I will destroy it.
Either that or highly recommend they install a rocket bunny kit on theirs so mine will be worth $8 billion.

Looking at the current resell values of our cars, it's not looking very good. But personally I did not buy my car for its resell value and I'm sure many of the people here didn't neither.

LOL!

There were approx 9000 Delorians made. DMC-12 had a suggested retail price of $25,000 ($650 more when equipped with an automatic transmission); this is equivalent to approximately $65,181 in 2015. There are 6500 estimated to be still in existence.

This car has 3000 miles and is very minty. $39K buy it now. You would make more by just leaving the 25K in the bank, and not have to pay for storage.

In 50 years...non self-driving cars may be illegal...

These are great cars...they are not investments.

Everyone that bought a series 10 or Series 1 or 2.0 etc etc..I hope you bought it because YOU like it. Because when there are 5k "limited editions" they are not limited.

They are in many areas.
And how many are used for more than a novelty?

That's exactly what will happen to self-driven automobiles, novelty, no super highways for the Luddites, but I bet when I die I'll still be able to drive an 86 across this country. Just like you can still ride a bicycle across it or ride a horse across it.

Will it be easy? Probably not, but all this doom and gloom is totally unfounded.
