Yep, the elementary school has a surrounding chain link fence with a locking gate. We also have volunteer "watch dog" fathers and grandfathers. The principle doesn't carry, but he is one sturdy dude.

The teachers (up to grade 3) and kids have to make eye contact and wave with a authorized person, before they are released through the gate at the end of the school day.

Yep, sort of like a prison with the parole officer and parolee.

Nope, it isn't an intercity school, but it is an intertown school, with cautious staff and parents/grandparents.

It's Friday, which means I have fifteen flying units trying to leave and get back to their home station. And only five of them actually coordinated any kind of pax or cargo move, so now the rest of them are showing up randomly expecting magic to take place so their cargo can leave. Tomorrow.

I can work miracles; I can't work magic. We told them when they arrived last month exactly what needed to happen and the timeline that it needed to happen by, and they didn't do it. Sucks to be them, but that's their problem; not mine.

Reminds me of back-in-the-day in a kaserne known as Coleman Barracks in Germany, which was an old WWII German military installation, the barbed wire portion on the tops of the very tall chain linked fences were pointed INWARD ......

I always wondered why the slanted INWARD .... ??
