The big 3 upgrade

Has anyone performed this upgrade on their system. If so, what's your current RMS draw from your audio gear and what gauge wire did you upgrade to?

The “Big 3” upgrade is a swap or addition to these three cables:

1) Alternator positive cable that runs to the positive terminal of the battery
2) Negative battery cable that runs from the battery to the vehicles chassis
3) Chassis grounding cable that runs to the engine block

Haven't done it yet but I absolutely need to due to my audio equipment. Once I get everything in order I plan on doing a DIY.

Any idea what the stock gauge is? I'm thinking of upgrading mine to 4 gauge, but I am not sure if it's worth it.

The total system should be around 2500W RMS.

Well since this was 2012 when the last post was made I think its safe to assume that the system we are here to "wait and see" killed him.

I have run two amps in my FR-S off one 2awg wire. Had zero issues. Had a cap too, but did not need it, so did not install it.

I imagine that you would need some very hungry amps and subs to need this upgrade. I ran 2 15" earthquakes with a 2000W Lanzar bridged to each one, and a 4 channel amp run to the interior speakers. My headlights dimmed in my Acura.

And, now I can't hear. WHAT???
