but seriously, within 2yrs. I currently still have few debts I need to pay off before starting a new debt. But 120% I'll be buying FR-S/BRZ!

Yeah that's how I'm starting to see it.

I have very little to zero debt, so what better way to start now with a new car.

Yeah, I hate having debts... I didn't get a ton of student loan... but enough to piss me off, so even though I have long time to pay it off, I wanna pay it off ASAP! So I don't have to worry about getting an auto loan.

I love having financial freedom. It's a sad sight to see friends & family struggle with debt. Investments & savings is awesome.

Anyways, this is how I've been feeling at work lately Crushing & closing the competition.

For all the metal guys out there:

If a car was wielded together with another metal after being damaged--how would you strengthen that particular metal? Or will it forever be weak.

I would say, depends on the area. That area that wielded will be stronger than other part.

But I'm no metal wielding pro or anything... Where's Dimman?

What kind of metal?

Are you worried about the Fit?

Yea. It sounds like the Titanic boat.

:l

Also the guys who wielded it together got some sparks on the rear glass. Makes the tint ugly.

Plus I'm curious about metal wielding in general. I've heard that in some cases the wielding makes the structure stronger and some make it weaker.

Welding. Welded.

But yes, there are so many different steels and rods and heats and joint types and fillet sizes, etc... that unless you have all the info you really can't say.

And on top of this there is the welder themselves. Many welders who don't have much formal training will undercut like its no big deal...

Yup. A good welder can usually do good work with shitty equipment. Best equipment in the world can't save a bad one.

The good ones are also, quite often, proud to the point of being ****y, anal-retentive divas, too...

The guy on Giccin's car doesn't give me a lot of confidence. Careless with sparks on a customer car? Sigh... Probably just another MIG monkey...

Funny story.

I was at FSAE Michigan several years back and the University of Florida team sprung a leak in some aluminum doohickey from their cooling system. So they take it over to the Lincoln Electric tent, because teams aren't allowed to weld anything in the paddock. The guy that Lincoln sent along to man the tent says "Sure, I can fix that. No problem." and he grabs a filler rod and goes to work. After several minutes of much swearing, wire brushing and multiple attempts to get a decent weld he hands it back and says, "This stuff just won't weld for shit. This is the best I can do." The guy from UF takes it back to the trailer and puts it back on the car, it still leaks. So he brings it over to our trailer to show it to a buddy of his on our team who happens to be a bad ass Al welder. So as he's telling us the story and bitching about the Lincoln Electric guy he passes the thingamajig around, and trust me when I say that this was the ugliest, nastiest weld I've ever seen. It was the sort of thing you'd expect from a blind monkey out of his mind on meth. So The UF guy and our guy take it back to the Lincoln tent to find out WTF is going on. ~10 minutes later they come back and it's fixed up as good as new.

The guy had been using a stainless steel filler rod.
