I actually think it looks pretty good!
I mean, compared to the Aston Martin that looks like it's wearing lipstick, this is rather well-executed.

Would I buy it? No... But I appreciate the effort (and it doesn't look too gaudy)

OK....

My 1998 Supra has no paint problems so I would think that in 20 years if I live that long the RS 1.0's paint will be fine also.

Yep, miles and neglect destroy paint it doesn't just fall off on it's own (unless it is mid 70s Chrysler silver). Keep it protected from the sun with a good wax and keep on top of chips and it will last a life time. Even the new low VOC type we have is not the whimsically fragile stuff some people seem to think it is.

Is your supra yellow though?

Unless it's in a garage, or shaded the majority of the time, yellow cars will inevitably fade. Just like red.

All I was trying to say before is that 2 years isn't enough time to determine paint quality.

Jim your paint is going to be perfect in a gazillion years from now the way its housed and treated. Probably going to have OG tires still on it too.

Like I said the Supra is 18 years old and looks new. My RS 1.0 is 27 months old with 1,958 miles on her with zero scrapes or chips. My Toys are only driven on nice days with a zero chance of rain. Now I owned a yellow Celica that was a daily driven car and the paint didn't fade because I keep the car clean and waxed. It's all about how you care for a car and your driving habits if you tailgate people expect rock chips.

Was it on sale on this site or eBay?

They are special warranty parts from Toyota. You can only get a replacement from Toyota under a warranty repair.

Most owners remove them from totaled cars so it's had to find one from local or online salvage company.

I went to a dealership and that specific part is $93. With the warranty repair wouldn't it be cheaper?

How are you going to get a warranty replacement without the old one and a reason it needs to be replaced ?
