Bet it can in Asia!

Probably some poor guy in Japan right now saying "私の頭のユニットは英語を表示しません"

I have about 7k into it. Only performance mods are headers, fp, op, exhaust and tune. I like the way the car looks, I love the way it handles but other then that the car annoys me and I've had a lot of ups and downs with it. I'm going to either swap it or sell it. Haven't really decided which one yet.

I share your opinion. The FR-S is the fastest car I've ever owned and seems plenty quick to me. It certainly has more than enough power for the local streets I drive. I guess my old cars must have been real dogs.

Yes, the FRS has enough power. No, the FRS isn't fast, and yes, it is relatively slow compared to other sporty cars in it's price range. Mainly because of the torque dip. Autocrossing my CS prepped FRS and another CS prepped ND Miata back to back during a test and tune and this becomes apparent. The Miata has 45 less horsepower but feels so much quicker. (mainly weight and gearing.)

What I hate most about the FRS:
All the damn rattles and squeaks. Mainly the crickets which is annoying, and the trunk rattle which I should fix, but I haven't honestly cared enough to bother. The dash rattles when it's cold out. Also, the sliding armrest is a stupid design. I should get the Japanese armrest that covers the cupholders completely, but I can't justify spending $200 on an armrest.

Besides the fact that it is objectively slow, and the crickets are ridiculous, it's a great car to drive... but I only own it because it's more practical than the Miata and can fit more stuff. The Miata is the better sports car. (Though I'd have the Fiat 124 Abarth because it has more character than the ND)

The fiat is a joke, not to mention it's a miata rip off.

If you don't like rattles then the Fiat is not the car either. Couple of hundred dollars and about 50 pounds of sound proofing and you can make the FRS as quite as anything else.

Do people actually do that with the twins?

Nothing can make the FRS crickets quiet.

Again, I still love the FRS and have no plans at all to get rid of it... This thread is about what you don't like about the car and I answered!

There are threads and threads on it. Between my exhaust and music I don't hear any of these alleged rattles anyway. Even if I did I would not care since if I wanted BMW silence I would have bought a BMW.

If only somebody made a car that addressed all of these concerns.

I was just pointing out that the Fiat is no better and if the noises are you main concern they can be fixed. The crickets I can make come and go at will just by getting my gas at different stations when it is hot out. Took some trial and error but I went all summer without a chirp that I didn't know was coming because of the gas I got.
