Fuji Heavy Industry just announced they have received more than 5,000 orders of the BRZ at the time of the end of May for two months since its release.

Kimihiko Sato, BRZ Project GM, said "The highest grade, 'S', got most popular. 70% of the orders are the MT, but the ATs are getting increasing."

He added "Even though we have a full production at the Gunma Plant, if you place your order now, the expected delivery date will be in March or April of the year 2013."
---

Nothing about Toyota 86/FR-S.

Meanwhile, Toyota Japan posted a different thing, "ETA will be after October for orders from now on...." on their official web, June 15.

This is just about Japan, of course, the situation will be different in each country, i.e. allotment, demands, marketing factors......

I wonder if this is how those SoA jackasses get their "October" ETA's? Well if I can get it for the right price, I'm going for a 370Z then.

looks like Subaru and Toyota never expected demand to be this high. Like what everyone has been saying for the past few months, Toyobaru were very conservative in their numbers.

They should've at least planned to increase production volumes at one point and allocated another production line somewhere as a "just in case" scenario.

This will just fuel dealers to justify their mark-ups now. No bueno.

Anyone wanna buy my BRZ for $40k?

I would almost argue FOR this initial limited supply because the demand shows that the market is there. Now they have all the more reason to pump out STI/TRD variants. Competitors take note. Looking at YOU, Honda.

Well, Subaru did have thier marketing team state they wanted to keep them rare...

I hope all those who ordered recently get them sooner rather than later.

As for Honda, hahahaha! They just need a lower priced S2000 and they'll be set! If the BRZ ever revved up to 8K, it's over.

I'm glad it maxes out at 7400

The real question is.. how much is that Mazda going to be MSRP-wise. All those frills like carbon fiber don't come cheap.
