Yep. (and tune was in my list).
A lot of things changed to get that 5HP gain so not sure why so many seem to think that manifold is some magic bullet they just bolt on and make huge gains.

Yet even for MY2017 they still have constraints to have tune conservative enough to deal with crappy fuel world-wide. No wonder if they played it safe this time too.

Imo there is some significance to the the area of the torque dip. Might be a happy spot for the motor that needed to be suppressed to meet noise/emissions requirements. Other than that, they spent a lot for a meager overall gain. Probably speaks to the stringency of standards that needed to be met. At least the new manifold wont inflate under high boost.

The majority is from a revised header design.

Kind of an odd question, but is this new manifold's part number the same as a boosted applications? If so... im betting it was a cost saving measure long term for subaru to use across all their "f" series motors.

IIRC, the turbo engines use tumble valves still, so I doubt it's the same part.

correct, the DIT has a TGV, similar to the EJ.

Has anyone tested this with FI? What are thoughts on this in a racing application, FI, with lots of heat under the hood? Heat soak has been a big issue for me.

Does the orig plastic intake manifold have a history of breaking? The Genesis Coupe 2.0T was plastic and had a bad rep for breaking at the gasket even at stock boost (which is still 18 PSI). But I don't recall reading about too many Twins blowing up intake manis.

As for the red... c'mon, we all know that was done so you'd know that YOU have the upgraded engine.

Are the TGV integrated into the manifold? I know that at least on the old EJs they sat between the manifold and the heads.

Subaru has been using plastic intake manifolds on factory turbo cars since at least 2005 and I think they've been very reliable. I don't remember hearing about any failures when I had my 2005 Legacy GT. That being said I don't know if the intake manifold on the twins is manufactured in the same way and is the same material.

The only issues Subaru has had with plastic on factory turbo cars has been the plastic intercooler end tanks separating from the metal core on Legacy GTs under high (not OEM) boost levels. And even then it's more of an urban legend that started after a few failures.

It's sandwiched in.
