I was at championships at Watkins over the weekend. Lousy twin turnout (2) and a lot of crashes but over all a good experience.

Bump
![]() The TT4/ST4 rules were released recently. I wasn't going to run in that class until I read the rules. Now I'm 99% sure I'll be in TT4. The tire restrictions are awesome. Ban on non-DOT, tire size limitations, huge penalty on A7's. And with the 12:1 ratio and avg hp calc, I can run a lot more power then I initially realized. |

Has anyone dyno reclassed into TTD? Does this make the minimum competition weight go away?

Compared to what we did in TTB, you can now run a gutted car and still add more power. There's already a s2k guy complaining in the nasa forums that they are now at a disadvantage. The s2k's now belong in TT5 but of course they are going to have to wait till 2018 for that.

I'm excited for this coming season. I'm planning on ST3 but we'll see where everyone falls and how many ST2 cars bump to ST1 or if any ST3 bump to ST2. I think it will be fun to have a 7-10 car ST3 field and the car should be a very fast ST3 car.

The cars are TTD stock so a reclass wouldn't be an option but the class power to weight ratio still stands.

That minimum competition weight of 2940 is absurdly high though. I'm not even CLOSE to the P:W cap, even with full bolt ons. I'd much rather make the bolt-on points go away... |

I've heard of others dyno reclassing into the same class for that reason but I'm not sure if there's a ton of advantage. The major reason would to be just what you said, get the power adder and weight points to go away. I was 2905lbs this year with the S/C, cage, 2 seats, windows still in the car including my 225lbs. I plan on being about 100 lbs lighter next year, but I'm running Super Touring / TT2 / TT3. My car should be a very fast ST3 car. I moved up to those classes to get away from the mod points. TT4 is going to be a much better place for our cars. If you use the A7 tire, you would be a competitive NA TT4 car for sure! Then you're fairly free to mod as you wish. Tire > HP
