Well, since this is back from the dead, has anyone compared Vishnu's ver. 2.xx maps to these older ones?

Since we are in the neighborhood anyway, good question.

I've been nothing but happy with the Vishnu tunes the car sounds noticeably better in stage 1 and almost like something holding it back a bit has freed it

I hope people are still watching this thread as I am quite tempted by this product but I am a little wary.

I just got a 2016 a couple of months ago and it is completely stock. I want to find out what reversible mods I could do to it that help with that torque dip the most, while providing the best value.

Is there anyone out there that has bought this product, and if so would they buy it again? Is there anything I should be wary about? Are there better options out there?

Thanks

The dyno results at the beginning of this thread are a bit dated (2013). OTS maps have been refined over the years. A few thousand more users too. Since then, we have also released a Stage 2 tune/kit which is much more effective that just the tune alone:

More product info can be found here: http://www.openflashtablet.com/shop/oftofh2-combo/

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers

Just finished flashing the stage 1 tune and going for a test drive. My car is basically stock aside from a k&n drop-in filter. As I felt during my test, the mid-range picked up a bit just like the dyno tells. Overall, I am happy I have an OFT to toy around with.

@Shiv@Openflash has anyone done an e85 dyno run with the oft tunes? I'm curious if it's over 200whp

Maybe but doubt it. My OFT tune ran rich in the 11's. Which is not dangerous but not best for power according to another tuner. So its likely 190 if I had to guess. The tunes he posts are absolute bests and custom to that car car. Also depends on what gear, a higher gear pull like 5th will read higher.

My maf was also not scaled very well on the OFT causing bad fuel trims on e85. There where ok on 93 though. All this made me get a custom tune on Ecutek by HRI tuning.

The biggest thing you will probably need to have done is the MAF Scaling which you can do yourself. There is a thread in this section by steve99 which outlines the process, its not all that difficult at all.

Any dyno tuning past that probably wont net you to much. If I recall a few members have had the OFT tunes "improved" upon and picked up maybe ~5whp

Shiv does a pretty decent job of making a tune that is safe in a variety of situations while still making decent power.

With that said though, you will be hard pressed to find anyone willing to tune with the OFT on the dyno as its a bit more cumbersome and time consuming than ECUTek

I got to meet Shiv, who was nice enough to get it all setup and loaded the Vishnu built baseline map version 1.0. He also included the v1.1 map, which isn't out yet. He said, try them out and post your feedback.

The OFT read and copied down my stock ROM in about 2 minutes and about 4 minutes after that I had the 1.0 map installed. I drove around for the next 30 minutes on it to get feel for it, mixing in some country backroads and little freeway driving. Its nice and smooth and definitely gives more kick up top. It seems to have neutralized the torque dip that you can feel if you're lugging the motor at around 3500 rpm. The car is really enjoyable with a little more punch. The partial throttle mapping is smooth and bit more aggressive at the same time.

Then i loaded the version 1.1 maps and it felt even snappier with a little more top end. I don't how much of that was real or in my head, but I really liked how it felt. I was thinking, there is no better way to find out other than to run to the dyno and see if my butt is feeling something or if its in my head.

Drove another 30 minutes away to the local dyno shop, dropped $80 for my 6 pulls. I wanted to compare what I had, what I got and the newest maps. Same car, same day, same tank of gas and same weather.

My car mods are very minimal (waiting for them to be delivered) ... its all stock, except for the muffler delete from a local muffler shop. I have the both cats still and my muffler delete is connected to the factory mid-pipes (axle-back). Muffler delete is a crush bent, 30 minute, $100 special.

So I think these results may be more inline with a stock car.

Here's a list of my pulls:
Run1 - stock
Run2 - stock
Run3 - OFT Vishnu Stage 1.0 Map
Run4 - OFT Vishnu Stage 1.0 Map
Run5 - OFT Vishnu Stage 1.1 Map
Run5 - OFT Vishnu Stage 1.1 Map

Between Run2 and Run3 and between Run4 and Run5 may have had up to 5-6 minutes of time lapse, since I was reflashing the ECU.

Dyno Plot #1 - Stock (Run1) vs. OFT Vishnu Stage 1.0 (Run3)

Dyno Plot #2 - Stock (Run1) vs. OFT Vishnu Stage 1.1 (Run5)

Dyno Plot #3 - OFT Vishnu Stage 1.0 (Run3) vs. OFT Vishnu Stage 1.1 (Run5)

Summary:
My butt is sensitive to real power differences. Congrats to me!

No really. I think even if you're not heavily modified or thinking about tuning it yourself, you should consider getting an OpenFlash Tablet and sticking the Vishnu Stage 1.1 map on your car. I don't think you're regret it.

Let me know if there are any questions. Thanks for reading.
Where do i get this Vishnu tune?????
