Has anyone done their Subaru logo in cherry blossom? I'm tossing up the idea but not sure yet.

Just changed my exhaust to a Greddy Revolution RS. 100% more fucking loud. 100% more awesome.

So, I've had enough time in the seat of both to be able to form my opinions of both supercharged and turbocharged.

Admittedly, I've never liked the idea of supercharging. I think it's stupid and roundabout to take power to make power. My throttle response was never quite right. I suspect this to be partially because of the parasitic draw of the blower, and it's possible I had a tiny vacuum leak. My IATs were insanely high because it heat soaks like fucking crazy. I'm talking 130+ in heavy traffic. It felt sluggish and too linear too, and therein lies the problem for me. Being able to hit full boost at low RPM gives that punchy thrill that a supercharger just doesn't, and it holds that boost all the way to redline. The power is just that much more immediate.

It's also simpler. The Edelbrock kit (as most proper PD blowers do) just has too much shit going on, and things have to be relocated all over the place. You have an entirely new coolant loop with water pump you have to worry about, since the intercooler has to be water-to-air because the small space between the blower and the intake manifold is the only place an intercooler can go. You have to change fuel lines, clutch lines, coolant lines, and add/extend a rat's nest of electrical just to make it work. You can't run a strut brace with it because it's absolutely massive. Don't get me wrong, if I had to go with a PD blower I'd do it again since I believe the Edelbrock is the best kit out there, but it is a fairly complex system.

By comparison, a turbo is a turbo. You have exhaust piping coming into and out of the turbine side of the turbo, and you have intake piping going into and out of the compressor side of the turbo. Weld a bung on the oil pan or just buy a pre-welded pan. Tee off of the oil pressure sensor for the oil feed line to the turbo. That's it. It's a turbo. There's nothing to it. Except the shitty close tolerances on some of the nuts. My hands have a few cuts.

Welcome!

Especially like Fiona's pic, at least one of us flings the car around a bit. I want to start Solo sometime soon. Was going to start last year but the SC tune was never right.

Did this last night.

Still need to fix that damn clock lighting.

Looks good man! The clock was a bitch at first. When you get in there, there's a little white plastic piece that the LED's sit behind and the screen sits on top of. Don't de-solder the screen, just bend it out of the way so you can unscrew the white piece. I sat for about 20 mins trying to figure the best way to go about it and almost created a lot more work for myself. Did you do the gauges/door/traction/light controls too?

My LEDs have been done for almost a year and I've done other cars here. I'm actually removing the screen entirely.

Yeah I did mine about 10k miles ago. How funny that we did them almost the same. I did the window controls and headlight/dimmer switches too.
