My issue started after about 4k on the clutch. I've flushed the clutch fluid, was about to change the tranny fluid but I think reading this, nothing will be solved.

I've adjusted the clutch several times, a bit higher than my initial setting helped a bit. I'm on ACT street perf w/streetlite flywheel and I have the same issue. My car doesn't creep forward(if pedal is pushed all the way down) when trying to put first gear in and the clutch disengaged but I do have a hard time(sometimes) trying to put it in 1st from a standstill. Mine seems to happen mostly when the car is already hot and has been running for a while(over 30 mins). Seems to be a widespread problem with these cars and aftermarket clutches.

I get the feeling is the throw out bearing not disengaging the clutch at times, at all. I say this because the clutch normally operates as it should, but 1 out of 6 times it just doesn't allow first to go in.. if apply force enough it'll go in.

I did this today.. tried to put in reverse, got stuck... still applying slight force to shifter to put in reverse, I let out the clutch pedal completely, and nothing happened, lol as if I were trying to put the car in gear without touching the clutch pedal.

Sorry to bring up a old thread. ACT extreme street I'm using had the same issue. Opened the trans and found nothing other then some burn marks on the flywheel(probably due to drag) ended up buying a velox clutch fork, a used 5k mile ACT clutch with lightened flywheel and a whole different transmission. I basically replaced it all. Hopefully I do t get the lockout issue again.

Raise that clutch pedal. Get some more throw.

I did that and didn't really help. Ended up just replacing the whole transmission and clutch with upgraded velox clutch fork.

I wonder if it wasn't just a binding friction disc. How many people bother to do a test fit over the input shaft before installing everything?

Five minutes deburring with a diamond file? o.O

Did anyone ever solve this issue? ACT clutch with lightweight flywheel. I also have problems with 1st gear from a stop.

I'll jump on this list too.

I occasionally get this going into first. More commonly I get this when trying to select reverse from a dead start. Like some others have found, when it is hard to shift into 1st, if I keep the clutch down and try to push it in, the car will slowly start creeping forward.

Of the guys who have this as a recurring problem -and tried many things to resolve it- has anyone replaced the clutch slave cylinder itself? Or checked the clutch master cylinder for leakage? Any chance there is some sort of pressure limiting/relief valve in the clutch system somewhere? Either a separate component or something built into the slave?

That's bad bad bad. You will munch syncros in no time with a dragging clutch.

The hydraulics are simple. Just look for decent adjustment and no air in the system. No common failures either. Common sense dictates first considering the parts that were changed.

Nothing was ever changed in my car - only thing that happened that I am aware of is the prior owner had the stock clutch pulled, the flywheel machined and a Stage 2 Bully Clutch installed.

You -however- have convinced me to put changing the fluid, bleeding it thoroughly and then checking the clutch pedal adjustment on my "to do" list

Gonna try and force myself to do this one day next week.

Has anyone replaced the stock line with in a stainless high pressure one? Think I might do that too. A part number or details on measurements would be helpful if anyone has gone down this road already.

There is no reason to replace the clutch line with anything stiffer. It feels only a tiny fraction of the pressure that a brake line does. Look elsewhere for performance mods.

It could be flex in the fork if you didn’t replace the fork with a Verus forged fork. Try bleeding the clutch and adjusting the clutch pedal height.
