Unfortunately that means more money, and the new stock intake works rather well.

I've never taken the easy way out before, and am not about to start now.
I've yet to be sold on any aftermarket intakes. Don't think any of them truly justify their price of entry. I still think there's room for improvement on the cleanness of install on all of the oil coolers too. I've never liked the standard clearances on the sandwich plates with the current round of off the shelf options.

Looking forward to where this goes. One would hope a new generation of oil coolers will be made that work with both the '17+ and the older models.

Yeah - won't work. Here's the specifications straight from Subaru:
16 MY
Filter Material: Non-woven fabric
Size [mm]: 290 x 150 x 50
Filtration area [m2]: 0.193

17 MY
Filter Material: Filter paper (PAF II)
Size [mm]: 269 x 151 x 30
Filtration area [m2]: 0.77

How about this:

The clearances are a lot better than they look, its just the image.

I used torque seal on the banjos so I can keep and eye on them.

It's what will become the APR front air dam for the 17+ BRZ.

Mike have you decided on what you are doing regarding the oil cooler? What are your thoughts on the cusco oil cooler or the FXT cooler? I'm pretty sure I saw a discussion between you and some other users regarding air-to-oil vs water-to-oil, can't seem to find it now.

I may temporarily buy an intake or swap in a 13-16 intake so I can run a Jackson Racing oil cooler for now, until I figure out a permanent solution.

Authentic. No fake/replica parts for me.

It's mostly bling, but minimally adds additional function, as the mirror is indeed larger, and the lack of a frame further increases viewing area.

I'm allowed cosmetic mods too!

I thought you were going to do the UFO removal until I actually saw the frame. Looks good!
