Yeah I was actually just about to try that. I think I'm going to switch to a more powerful unit next month regardless, these hangups aren't acceptable to me since the whole purpose of having this thing is gauges.

Mine was super slow as well, but after disabling Google App and Google Play Services and tweaking some values in the Governor it's relatively quick now.

More info on the governor stuff here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...66&postcount=3

I'm using the latest Malaysk MTCD rom which has root access. I used kernel adiutor to set the go_hispeed_load to 60 and hispeed_freq to 1608000 and it's been pretty good since then.

Downside of disabling Google Play Services is that you can't store offline areas in Google Maps (among other things), but I guess I can live with that.

But that png doesn't match our twins' cam angle and wheel track (obviously because it was made for a RAV4. lol). Here's what it looks like on the unit.

The red 0.5m line is pretty good distance wise. But the green 2m line is more like 1m on our car. And the yellow track lines are obviously off. I just use it for the red line distance as I reverse mainly using mirrors and head check and only refer to the reverse cam for distance to wall once I'm already straight. I may just go in and remove those track lines and the numbers on the green line.
I ended up messing with the lines myself. I laid out two tape measures along the car's trajectory and tried to line up the stock lines with the ones in the picture. It's not perfect but it is a lot better than the original.

Original lines with the real trajectory on the ground:

Modified lines png file:

Modified apk with the new trajectory lines
MTCBackView.zip

I didn't get a picture yet, but it's pretty decent now.

Has anyone on 5.1.1 noticed significant increases in performance from upgrading to JY_1.90 (Sept) from JY_1.63 (June)?

Also, has the sound output changed? I am worried that if I upgrade then it will mess up my oem audio+ tune.

Update, I retuned my sound and it's great with OEM audio Plus. If anyone has the Joying 5.1.1 HU or OEM Audio Plus setup I would recommend pairing the two as it sounds amazing.

As for the 5.1.1 headunit, I decided not to root it and stuck with v1.90 as it fit my needs. Disabled a bunch of google services which sped up the unit ALOT.

how are you guys getting your units (internet) ?

I'd perfer not to use a hotspot.

Does BLUETOOTH Internet connection sharing work?

Everytime I go into google maps it needs a connection when I have GPS. what am I missing?

Never tried connecting via Bluetooth. Use either hotspot, Wi-Fi, or dongle. You can always download offline maps of your area.

I've had half an eye on that one...I have the older MTCB version. Curious if the DVD button is truly dead or if something like mtc-keys can make use of it. I currently have all my buttons re-purposed and losing one would really mess up my routine ><

I'll have to check out mtc-keys. will that work on the stock rom? i had a ca-fi before so the joying side of things is new to me.

if i recall, before i disabled it, pushing the eject button did elicit a keypress beep, so it should still be functional. but i can confirm further once i figure out more about how it works.

I can confirm that my USB OBD2 adapter works great, which means super fast refresh rates.

IIRC it will, but the unit still needs to be rooted and have xposed installed.
Basically you activate the mtc-keys xposed module and create an mtc-keys.ini file on the SD card. The file contents map the buttons ID to the package/action/intent you want it to run...mine looks like this:
Code:
# Remap physical HU buttons to apps

# MUTE button [home]
action_4=home

# DVD button [mtcmusic4]
app_42=com.microntek.music

# BAND button [torque]
app_43=org.prowl.torque

# NAVI button [HERE WeGo]
app_51=com.here.app.maps

That sounds promising. If I can retain the use of all the buttons I might have to upgrade...the boot time on this thing is killing me. That made me think...using the eject button for something never even occurred to me...I might try that, can never have too many buttons

I have an OBDLink SX myself...reading all of the headaches people are having with bluetooth over on XDA makes me real happy I opted for USB

Evening All -- Has anyone updated to the latest march or february firmwares for their 2GB 5.1 unit?

I had OEM Audio+ retune my amplifier but the imaging and sound balance was far off. I'm on the Dec 2016 firmware and they had based their tune off of the Nov 2016 firmware. Joying must be modifying the sound output with some firmware revisions.

I'm trying to decide if I want to stick to Dec 2016 firmware and let OEM+ tune to that (I am sending my headunit in with the amplifier for retuning), or if I want to upgrade to the latest firmware so that i'll be current before they begin the tuning. It's tough to know, because there aren't too many folks providing feedback on the february or march firmware updates. Anyone have thoughts?
