Trends change. People want that "fake"aggressive look now. If it looked life a 90s Miata, no matter how fast it was, it would not be successful. Sure some enthusiasts would buy it but not enough to make it worthwhile to continue producing. Like it or not, a lot of the reason the car is selling as well as it is(which isn't that great) is because it looks good and fits what many people think a sports car should look like

So many actual hard-core cars out there don't feel the need for fake aggression. Bummer Toyota decided to go with the fake boobs. It's only going to get worse, then.

That's because they are actually fast.
Fake boobs > no boobs

LOL @ this thread and anyone who thinks a car needs to be fast to justify aggressive styling. It's a design choice, you either like it or you don't. Being less aggressive wouldn't make it more authentic.

While at the gas station with the salesperson to fill up the tank on my '17 BRZ, a '17 86 pulled up.... small world. (idk why my iphone went sepia mode on these two pix). Sure the front end is better in person - but I still prefer the BRZ. It was fun to have the two side by side - I still think I went with the better version... and getting to a/b the interiors as well - BRZ hands down.

I don't believe I said that, or am I misunderstanding your post?

Regarding the 86, I'm sure it was a marketing decision. Some clown said that since the stock 86 will always be behind the other cars, we should make sure it looks "aggressive" in the mirror. The front of the 86 does not match, at all, the styling of the rest of the car. It's stupid, IMO, but then again I bought an FR-S and then traded that for an 86.

I said before that when I see "aggressive" I sub "retarded". I'm not calling anyone who likes that look retarded.

Thankfully you don't get to choose the definition of the word as I used it. If you really want to be offended, google some Airbus landing videos.

I just spotted a Walmart in my area advertising 100% gasoline. I wonder if the others are the same then? Considering the location I saw just had their gas station built.

I think when my lease ends next year Im going to get a mustang. Ive been driving an FRS for 5 years now, through two different versions; I think I have had my fill.

The new model doesn't grab me, and I think even with the release of the 2017, I still have the best version to date (1.0)

I still enjoy driving it everyday, but This new model doesn't do much for me. When I had a 2013, and the 1.0 came out, I was so thirsty for it, I went tot extremes to get one. I dont feel that way for the new models. Something is just off. And Man after 5 years, I fkn miss leather seats, jesus!!!!!!

retarded
adjective re·tard·ed \ri-ˈtär-dəd\
Popularity: Top 30% of words

Definition of retarded
sometimes offensive
: slow or limited in intellectual or emotional development or academic progress

It might be better to say it looks "stupid". No one seems offended by the word "stupid".

And yeah, sorry, but it looks ridiculous. Every time I see it my hate ratchets up a bit more.

One of many definitions. Those who assume I meant the worst are not my problem. However, I will attempt to find a more appropriate word to describe fake aggression and those who like it.
