WTB: Set of Rims

Winter is coming up, let me take those summer wheels off you guys and go buy yourself a new treat next year!

Looking for sets of rims in 17s or 18s only.
- Not interested in your tires, unless borderline brand new
- No curb rash
- No reps

No set of rims are too expensive! Just don't give me ridiculous prices.
If no decent rims are sent my way, I will be purchasing a set of RS05RR brand new.

Help me help you!

I recommend chsck out 720 Form GTF2. Similar look, different finish. But, pretty sure considerably lighter and also similar process for higher strength. Unless you are looking for Rays or some really pricey stuff...

And they are reasonably priced! @FT86Motorsports has them on sale right now.

Thanks for the recommendation. And i believe you meant the GTF3? I have indeed checked those out before just wasn't a fan of the silver in between each spoke. Not too much of a hassle to fix if i really want to but wasnt too familiar with the brand/quality.

They are light and strong and use a similar process to Enkei MAT for a stronger almost forged wheel.

The line consists of 3 models only, but considering they spec out very similar to RPF1 without the boring overexposed design (IMHO) I think they are winner.

I have GTF1's. They are the lightest and strongest with the least spokes and 17" only. The finish is great if you have issues with black brake dust. With my Project Mu's that is an issue and the finish blends with the dust.

The silver is where they cut out a bit for more weight savings. I think the point is they show that weight savings is priority.

There's a race team in QC that has 3 or 4 sponsor provided sets and they have held up for a few seasons really well for them. They did curb one rim really hard and break it, so I guess that is their destructive testing. They are rated for something like 750 kg/corner.
+light
+strong

The style is subjective.

I agree that the RPF1 is overexposed, especially with 86 owners. But now I'm starting to feel the same way about these 720forms.

I personally think it's a pretty ugly wheel design and doesn't suit the twins very well, but that's subjective. Same as a lot of people's feelings towards RPF1, which I personally don't think is ugly per se, but definitely a bit on the "safe" side design-wise.

That said, I know the majority of people who buy either of these wheel designs are doing so for light weight and not much else (such as style).

Just my $0.02 (rounded up to $0.05 by the government).

You sure you don't work for 720form?

The GTF3s aren't bad, for the price it wouldn't kill me to just powder coat them to the desired colour/finish I want. Just so tempting to go full on "JDM BRO".
