From what I've read, you *should* be ok. After the track day, auto-x, road trip, and other hard driving, I should have changed the oil already but I'm letting it go until after they fix up my car. Figured if I kept it at a pure DD for another month and not flog on it, then it should be fine.

I don't think going past the interval will make your engine blow up or anything like that. :P

Meanwhile at work, they laid down the banhammer and prohibited non-work related activities on the internet now. Even if there's periods of prolonged downtime, we cannot surf the net. We cannot view training videos for more than an hour a shift. So essentially, I'm supposed to sit there for 10-12 hours and stare at a wall.

Been a few years since I've been legitimately pissed off at anything. It's like they don't care that many good people who knows the system inside and out (thus can work extremely efficiently) have left for other pastures, and will continue to lose more... including this one.

That's so stupid. I get that they don't want you to screw around too much but to say you can't do anything else even when you're waiting is just mean. I don't even like the concept of hourly jobs really. Give me a salary and some responsibilities and stay the fuck away from me unless I'm not doing something right. That's when you go take a shit for a half hour while you catch up on your phone. If I wanted to work a-la-carte I'll go into business for myself, thanks. (And I been self-employed before it's rather liberating)

Yup. I don't mind micromanaging but this stepped up to a whole new level. From what I understand, they are trying to boost productivity by doing this but (my pov), this simply lowers morale and won't make anyone work faster.

Was having second thoughts about leaving before, but this pretty much nailed the coffin.

As long as don't drive your car this weekend, you will be OK.

If you do, and you have a warranty issue, you're screwed.

I never thought I'd have to spoon feed YOU ......

Don't you ever plan ahead ...... You surely have enough time sitting in your truck, doing nothing, to schedule having your car serviced .....

I started watching movies at work. I download them ahead of time either rentals or reruns of the few I own. I believe anime sessions are only $15 on Amazon, work checking into. Then you won't use data or be online

Great idea, but I literally cannot do anything else for the entire shift. Cannot go on phone or other devices. Complete ban on non-work related activities. I can probably get away with listening to music but even that might be crossing the line.

Unfortunately just one of those things that slipped my mind. I also had no idea where I was going to be working when I got to the office on Monday. Didn't expect to have an 1100km commute that I was given a day to do. Ah well. It'll wait until Monday, or maybe tomorrow evening if I decide to go and buy some tools, oil, filter and filter wrench (that I'll charge to the company), but that will be weather dependant. Since right now it's blizzarding, and I only have a hotel parking lot to work in
