Are these Headlights and Taillights Legal in Ontario? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Hi. I am new and Fr-s is my first car. I wonder if These Headlights and Valenti Taillights are legal on streets in Ontario? They look very cool. Also, whats a good place to purchase these for good price?

The tails don't look legal. There needs to be a little light on the outer edge like in the Tom's red usdm dot legal ones.

I have been running Tom's without the DOT side markers for almost a year now and haven't had a cop so much as give me a sideways glance regarding the lights.

I'd say you're safe. There's probably multiple people using these in Ontario already.

That said, it's your risk, cause there are some cops who WOULD pull you over for that...

Not sure about the headlights.

In terms of where to get them, try BRZWorld.

In the States, If it has the DOT stamp, it is legal. The headlights have the stamp in the pic.

Call the Ontario MOT... but realistically you are more likely to be pulled over for not signaling than you are to get nailed for tails...

if you are looking for valenti tail lights, I am using them for aroudn 3 months now, no problem. Look under classified sales "lights" and find pansonTW, def cheapest price you can find for them.

Sorry reviving old thread.

I've been pulled over twice now for speeding with my valenti's on. Both cops didn't even mention anything. Mind you I believe I have the newer version (which may be dot-stamped) as I did not have to do any re-pinning on the harness, it was all plug-n-play.

My only worry is what insurance may think about this if I get rear-ended. I don't expect them to cover the cost of the valenti's, but I am worried they may deny my claim for running supposedly illegal tails.

Mods are probably rarely covered if they weren't added to the insc. policy.

Insc. denying a claim due to no DOT stamp? Hmmm that's a stretch, maybe in a case that no rear reflector or no side illumination contributed a possible/probable reason for the damages. Always a risk with ANY aftermarket parts.

Smoked Valentis excellent BTW. They have reflectors and the light tube is clearly visible from the side. The speedline are good vendors.

Keep your stock tails in case of damage.

And, stop speeding!
