Keyed 3 weeks ago, thinking of vinyl wrap instead of repainting

My trunk got keyed about 3 weeks ago. I'm paying out of pocket since my deductible is $500.00. Insurance low balled for the repair and would have only paid $89.00. Got a appt. with a good auto paint shop but I'm wondering if I should just vinyl wrap the trunk. Repainting trunk will cost me $741.00 which includes Toyota badges and getting the trunk ceramic coating again by a detailer. Take a look at the picture. It's not keyed to the metal but fuck it's about 3 ft long on top of my trunk lid.

Would any of you repaint or go with a vinyl wrap? I don't wanna order a new carbon fiber trunk because the shipping cost would be EXPENSIVE!

Some people really suck, sorry you have to go through this. Personally if it was my car I would repair the damage and move on rather than cover it with a wrap.

I was thinking this ^

Clean up the area real well, use clay bar too. See how bad it looks, if it really isnt even to the metal, I'd just put some touch up clear coat on it and see how that turns out. You'll always know its there but it could clean up real well.

$741 sounds excessive though... even with the new badges and what not o_O. Body shop shouldnt have to paint the whole trunk, just fix that scratched area and blend around it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I had my entire front bumper repainted and I don't think it cost that much.

Also, maybe get a dash cam that has a rear camera too :P Would be helpful if the person keying your car had some personal vendetta, then you could identify them. Or at least it could be a deterrent to other assholes.

The shop I'm going to is known for it's good work in blending the paint with the rest of my car. Unfortunately I can't do much on my own since I have a bad shoulder injury at the moment. The auto paint shop is only charging me $574.00. The rest of the cost is for the 3 Toyota badges which I bought online. The ceramic coating will be done by the detail shop that did my Opticoat.

I thought about not fixing it but I'm anal when it comes to my car. The owner of the paint shop even told me I could just leave the scratch there since it's not to the metal. If the scratch was just a few inches I'd leave it but it's 3 feet long.

I'll get a dash cam after I get trunk repaired. So many of them on the market. I'll get a mid priced one.

Buy a whole other trunk. People sell them in Facebook in perfect condition for less than 500$. Or get aftermarket one. Honestly cheaper than repairing that

Thanks for the suggestion.
Unfortunately that was my first thought but shipping to Hawaii is expensive.
Haven't seen any used one locally and was told by the guys in local ft86 club people sell used one's for big bucks!
