I have no idea. Google it I guess. Hair dryer or heat gun is probably a good start

What kind of deals will you make me on the part out?

That is the kind of thing that nobody but you will notice, and having said that it would drive me insane.

What adhesive did you use, and are you confident you can pull it off without damaging your paint (e.g. do you have the proper heat guns, adhesive removers, etc)? It will be a pain to clean and prep everything after removal, but I would probably correct that error on my car, even if I know that no one else cares.

To put things in perspective: I also restore muscle cars from the 1960s... and the factory specifications for panel alignment were typically 0.25 inches +/-; cars used to routinely leave the factory with bigger mis-alignments than that!

Thanks for the input! The adhesive is a 3m tape that was pre installed in the spoiler and an "adhesive promoter" was also spread onto the trunk where the tape would sit.

It was kind of a P.I.T.A to install and a do-over would probably be twice as hard, and susceptible to more damage. Ugghh I just don't know if I will ever forgive myself for it but I also prefer a stronger initial bond to a do-over where things could get really messy. It cost me a pretty penny.

Don't beat yourself up - go out and enjoy your car. In a month you will have forgotten about this and you will be more bothered by the other things you find the next time you wash/wax your car!

Once that 3M tape grabs it's almost impossible to move the spoiler. But yeah a hair dryer or heat gun are good suggestions, or let in sit out in the sun for a few hours.

My FIVE:AD spoiler, aka 5 Axis or 3D carbon, has about the same amount of spacing on both sides that yours has on the right. Maybe you need to press down harder on it.
This is the second spoiler I have installed, see the next post, and both had the same spacing on both sides.

Technically this is what someone else did to my FR-S but I didn't want to start another accident thread.

Some ahole in a Toyota 4 Runner backed into me in an Aldi's parking lot. I was sitting in my car waiting for him to back out when he hit me. When the cop arrived he lied to him and told him we were both backing out at the same time. His word against mine, no witnesses, and no security camera on that part of the lot. Cop wrote it up as a no fault accident. So I got stuck paying the $500. collision deductible.

$2100. to get it fixed, new trunk, new FR-S badge, new FIVE:AD spoiler paid by insurance (body shop ordered it from fT86speedfactory and I installed it), paint/clearcoat trunk and bumper. I re-installed the backup camera.

He missed my new Valenti sequential tails

Fixed, the paint has a few dust specks but the color matches.

Btw, I've been using Snapseed and Instagram on my Moto XPE to edit most of my pics... they work great together.

Aisle shot at Wekfest Houston... also a screen shot from the video.
