Haven't touched games lately which is shocking. I usually play for about an hour to thrity minutes after work. Still playing Fallout 4 currently on the Nuka World dlc.

hah nope, I really don't care for the ranked games much. Too much e-peen for me.

I am not much of an adventurer. I don't think I have ever enjoyed a point'n'click game.

That has changed. I bought The Room for US$5 (so about AUD$4 billion). What a bargain. I discovered this game when searching for a time filler before Shadow Warrior 2 gets released. I found the Room 2 but it was suggested playing the 1st one first. I guess there is logic in that.

It is a puzzle game. One has to find the keys so one can unlock more keys. The story is beside the point. It is the discovery that makes this puzzle game worth while. I will get stuck, search for hours sometimes, then bingo!! There it is!
The design of the boxes is beautiful.

I haven't enjoyed a game like this (or found enjoyment like this) before.

For $5 great value.

I've decided after years of fighting it, I'm gonna play the Mass Effect series. Have any of you guys played it? Also, which would you think is the best in the series?

The series is really great! its probably better that you waited to play them all back to back, its especially cool because you can play the same character through the whole story.

My favorite, was 2 emotionally i connected with the story more.
Honestly.. Mass effect one is a completely different game then the other two blast through it quick and then take your time exploring in two and three.

I played the whole series on Xbox and I really enjoyed it. I don't think it cracks my top 5, but the series as a whole probably makes my top 10.

They all PLAY differently while maintaining a consistent universe. Play on the same platform and carry your character over, it's a must, little things and quests and choices you make in game 1 absolutely show up in game 3, and not carrying stuff over means you'll miss out on some cool things.

ME1: Most RPG like with stats, skills, gear, inventory management, sidequests, etc. Terrible gameplay feel imo, the shooting is pretty mediocre and doesn't hold up almost 10 years later. The joy is the wealth of things to do and explore, lots of sidequests, it would be easy to sink 50+ hours into this if you enjoy experiencing the different things. One of the cool things that most people miss is that you can replay the game with a character that's already completed the game (this is true for all 3 I believe), you start at a high level, bring over perks, money, and equipment iirc. I sunk the most time into this one, it just felt so vast with so many options and things to do and master.

ME2: Lots of the RPG elements listed above are scrapped, but the gameplay mechanics are much tighter and more fun imo. Combined with a more emotional story and connection to your party characters this is probably the most 'fun' game to play through imo. It's like the previous game under a microscope, some stuff is cast out of view, but the things you do have bigger impact on the world you view. The tradeoff is the universe doesn't feel as big, your adventure feels much more linear and less open ended, and if you enjoy the detailed stats and equipment management in traditional RPG's that's all vastly simplified in this one.

ME3: Don't read any reviews or anger or disappointment, treat the whole game as your payoff for games 1 & 2 building to the conclusion. There are some great moments in this game, don't put a ton of emphasis on the last 10 minutes. It plays like ME2.1 and I played this one the least, I think only 2x through, I think it felt the smallest of the games despite the 'scale' they tried to impart. It's absolutely worth capping off the series with it.

Awesome, keeping the same character through 3 games was something I wasn't aware of. That'll keep me emotionally invested haha.

I'm assuming it has similar elements to Bioware's other series Dragon Age which I'm very familiar with so the gameplay mechanics might be less of a learning curve. But we'll see. Thanks for info Sounds like it'll be a fun experience.

I'm with the others that enjoyed Mass Effect. Great series, and I do like that the character carries over from one game to the next. I wish some other series (Fallout) did that.

Definitely worth playing if you haven't.
